(btw... I just know I'm going to mistakenly call Ayla, Arya. Because Arya is foremost in my mind (about to restart A Dance With Dragons) and I haven't read Clan Of The Cave Bear in so long, I've nearly forgotten about Ayla! I'll try to keep things straight, though.)

(ha ha, that is funny that the only two characters I could think of that were about the right age have nearly the same name! I really wanted to use Arya- hopefully will get to start Dance on Monday- but I'm pretty sure she's still only 11 (view spoiler)...)

I know right!! (in response to the spoiler ). I think you're right (about the age thing). I tried to start A Dance… a few months ago but was only able to make it to chapter 3 before life interrupted. But now, I've got nothing but time, so I'm anxious to see what happens. I sort of have an idea of what happens to Arya and a smidgen of a clue as to who Jon's mother is (because I inadvertently stumbled into a group with loads of spoilers) but I'll still read it and see what happens for myself.

It is! It appears as though a huge avalanche is falling on the mountainside… AND IT’S HEADED TOWARDS THE CORNUCOPIA!! I think they better leave that area with haste!

Fang leaps into the air and throws in wings out. He soars above the avalanche and flies to the tip of the mountain, which is now almost empty of snow. He lands in a tall tree.
-Tessa-
Tessa watches the winged-boy take off from the ground. After memorising his looks, she transforms into an equal replica of him. She attempts to lift off the ground using her new found wings, makes it about 20 feet and then plummits back to the Earth.
-Cinder-
Cinder was just above to grab something from the cornucopia when a loud beeping in her mechanical system took over her body. An avalanche warning started to flash in her right eye, telling her to get out as soon as possible. While everyone remained fighting at the Cornucopia, she turned and ran, leaving her where she was now. In a small crevasse in the side of the moutnain where she hoped, a) no one would find her and b) the avalanche wouldn't kill her.
-Savannah-
Savannah didn't realize the avalanche was coming until it litterally hit her. She was knocked down and covered by the snow. Thinking fast, she summoned a shield spell which engulfed her. The snow seemed to roll just off of her.
-Cas-
As soon as Cassia saw the snow falling, he considered all of his possible escape routes. He wouldn't be able to out run it, he didn't have a shielding spell, and he couldn't fly. The only thing he could possibly do was hide somewhere nearby. Without a second thought, he jumped into the heart of the Cornucorpia, ran to the back of it, and crouched down, hoping for the best.
Caine with a strained effort manages to levitate himself, as well as Alec, Annabeth, Thalia, and Cadel, 20 feet above the ground, just enough to avoid the avalanche! While Thalia screams hysterically, Caine releases his effort and drops them all on the powdery snow beneath them, and they run

Ayla has just managed to clear a hole through the snow, admitting fresh air into her cave, when she sees something fly past her. It takes her a few moments to realize what she's seen. Was that...a PERSON? Flying?!
Eyes wide, she slowly retreats from the entrance. She realizes that she had no understanding of what she's up against, and starts trying to come up with a plan.
