I read and did a review of The Poisonwood Bible, which I highly recommend. It is about a missionary and his family in the African Congo,11960-1995. I read the book after reading a list of recommended books in the list in Stephen King's book "On Writing." King's list is worth looking at.

I'm not a big King fan either, in fact, I haven't read any of this books but the one I mentioned. I am now slogging my way through the Game of Thrones series. I am on #3 now, Clash of Kings.

I taught Pride and Prejudice to a high school class. It really is THE original romance. It is not a genre I gravitate towards, but the story brings the reader in and I found I really enjoyed it.

"The Poisonwood Bible" is a great read! I liked Kingsolver's books already, and when this came out, it was on my Christmas list.

Maybe it's due for a re-read. :)
