Describe Hannah's new family. How is it different from her “real” family?

All open-ended questions should include a topic sentence, support for your claim (cite the text, if applicable), elaboration (further explanation and/or a connection) and a summation sentence. If you're not writing a minimum of 7 sentences, you're probably not writing enough to thoroughly answer the question.

Dejhan | 3 comments Hannah's new family is very different from her real family. Her new family calls her by her sweedish name Chaya. also in the chapter it says that hannah has an uncle named shmuel who is getting married. In hannah's real familyshe has a bestfriend named Rosemary, a brother named Aron, aunt rose, aunt eva, father, mother, grandma,
and grandpa.

Tyler | 8 comments Hannahs family is different from her other family. They gave her a weird name Chaya. Her other family seemed like a better fit for Hannah because the new family speaks Sweden. The new family thinks that Hannah is weird because she told some of the people from the Sweden family about her life before. They just shook their head and thought that she had problems. I don't think Hannah wants to be there because Hannah keeps trying to pinch herself to wake up so she can't be down in that family. All of this happened because Hannah's grandpa let her open the door and when she went in the door she couldn't go back to reality.

Amanda | 6 comments hannahs family is different from her other family. they used her jewish name Chaya. she seemed to like this family even though she thought it was part of a dream. she finnaly starts to realize that its just a dream by when they start to speak sweden.

Josh | 7 comments Hannah's family is different from other family. They used her Hebrew name instead of calling her Hannah. The new family thinks she's odd because when they got told about her life in Sweden they just basically were like "yeah sure."

Tyler,
Hannah/Chaya's new family speaks Yiddish, which is an old Jewish language. Her American, present day family speaks English of course, but for some reason Hannah/Chaya can understand the Yiddish without a problem.

Brandon | 2 comments I think her new family she is living with is different because they gave her wine and she felt dissy. I think thats why she was trying to go back to her real life. I would do that to if I was drunk.

Kingmomen | 5 comments she dos not like her new prates because she dosnt like the holidays and the other stuff and she wishes to go back to her old family she thinks that she was sleeping

Atien | 4 comments Well her fake family insults her more, they bring up bad memories a lot, they eat new laid eggs, and they are Yittish. While her real family respects her for who she is and thinks she unselfish which lead to her into this dream. I wonder what will happen next?

message 11: by Dejhan (new)

Dejhan | 3 comments hannah mesmerizes her new friends by telling them about all the movies and books she can think of. As they walk through the woods with the wedding party, Rachel, Esther, Shifre, and Yente jostle each other to be next to Hannah as she tells them about Yentl, Conan the Barbarian, Fiddler on the Roof, and Little Women. In New Rochelle, Hannah had never been very popular, but here, as Chaya, she is suddenly “the most popular girl on the block.

You didn't have to write a reflection answer tonight. That said, this is well written! Nice job, DJ!

message 13: by Brian (new)

Brian (BTmanizGold) | 5 comments How they are different is the way they talk, for instance the accents they have. The way they live the things they can do and can't do. The way how they practice their beliefs. What they wear compared to what Hannah's real family wears. So the "other" family is very different from Hannah's real family.

Devon Segarra | 7 comments Hannah's new family is different from her old family i think she misses the traits from her old family she's evoking memories. And this new family is so different from hannah's i really think she feels left out of this because she doesn't know the new family's religion or anything i really kind of do feel bad for her.

message 15: by Rick (new)

Rick | 3 comments Hanna's new family calls her there middle. They talk the same language with a gibberish accent. They also are in a whole different country and they are in Poland. She is from New York in the United States. She thinks that she is in this dream and she hopes that she will wake up[ from this but she wont this is her new life and she has to just suck it up and use what she knows to help her get though it and save her and others life.

message 16: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 3 comments Hannah's new family speaks a whole different language. But she still understands them. And her real family is kind of persuasive when it comes to Hannah. And in her new family Hannah doesn't have a brother anymore. But in her old family she had a little brother named Aaron. And that's how her new family and her old family are different

message 17: by William (new)

William | 5 comments Hannah's new family is different from her old family because of the fact that they were much older clothes, speak a whole different language and her new family somewhat lives in fear because of the fact that it is still the holocaust.
