Will they make a movie for all three books?

I've been wondering this for a long time. I'm guessing that the first movie will be good and people will want more... but maybe not. What are your thoughts?

Well, seeing as movies generally are worse than the book, and Mockingjay was, in my opinion, really bad, I don't think they should.

They probably will though, because of all the money involved.

Apparently they were going to do 4 movies, splitting Catching fire in two parts.
Plus everyone is expecting it be a huge success. Bigger than Twilight, maybe Harry Potter? who know's but it has gotten a lot of hype so yeah they'd have to make a movie for all the books.

Current info has plans for Catching Fire to be released in Nov 2013 but they have not developed a script yet for the movie. I think it will hinge heavily on how well Hunger Games actually does in theaters. There may be a lot of ticket pre-sales based on anticipation, but if the movie fails to bring in an audience once released or fails to make money compared to the budget, I doubt they would sink movie into a second or third movie.

Personally, I don't see how they could split any of the books into 2 movies. I don't think there is the depth and length to make two full movies out of either Catching Fire or Mockingjay. That is also not a trend that can be repeated successfully very often.

Catching fire has a release date set for late in 2013, according to IMDB, but they have not started filming as far as I know, and the IMDB page only has Jennifer Lawrence listed as "attached" which means she has not finalized a contract. But,. I can't imagine that they won't. It's going to be huge.

I read in a magazine that they are starting to make the second one already... so i would say that they are gonna make movies for all three :)

They said that the last movie is going to be put into 2 movies like Harry Potter and Twilight. But i think if they would put any book into 2 movies it should be Catching Fire and stop where Katniss is rscued and is going crazy trying to talk to Haymitch and Finnick. But for Mockinjay they should stop where Peeta is rescued and is chocking her- nice cliffhanger.

They are, but what they're going to do is copy every other single series that's been turned into a movie and split the last book into two movies. To be honest, if they split it into two, all they're really going to have is a boring political movie and then a war movie. I STILL can't wait for the first movie and the second is (hopefully) going to be amazing! :)

It depends on how well it goes with the first movie--if it turns out to be a let down, they'll probably cancel the two upcoming projects. Which is why I'm so hard trying not to get my hopes up. Because the trailer was so bad, if I hadn't read the book, I would have never seen the movies.

they will DEFINITELY make catching fire and mockingjay movie. look at twillight. the twilight is a dissapointing movie but they continue to make the second,third,fourth and fifth movie

Just adding that I read somewhere, I can't point where exactly since I have read a lot about this, that they didn't completely like the idea of 4 movies because it seemed liked they would drag things...

I would spilt it with the first movie is the first book the second movie stops with KAtniss passes out from the electricity and before they pick her up. Then the 3rd movie is Katniss figuring out Peeta is gone untill they get Peeta back and hes strangling her. The 4th movie is the rest of the Mockingjay. The 3rd and 4th movie will prbley be a boring politics movie though.

They will probably end the first movie so there are no indications for a second film. Kinda' like what they did with Percy Jackson. Just in case they don't make a lot of money off the first movie

There is not a chance in hell that they will not make the rest of the movies. The screenplay for catching fire is already written and gary ross gave it to suzanne collins to read to see if she approves of it. they are currently looking for a casting director

I think the movie will come out and people will flock to watch it like they did Twilight and then people will read the books more than they are now! They've already decided to work on movie number 2 starting in July!
