their wasn't enough basic chemistry between them. too much complications. what really had me wanting to stop though was the 16 years before they reunited. i can understand no more than 6(hey this is fantasy) that way the son would be able to develop a real bond with his father. at 16, i know meeting my father at that age, i wouldn't really develop the feelings i have for him. but that's just me. i can't finish this book for that alone. also what happened to the selfish friend, the hostile boyfriend. i didn't like it enough to finish it and i hate doing that. i liked it before the 16 year rift

Kim, I read it as well. The 16 year rift got me. Especially after he married the other woman and found out that she had manipulated the situation. The doctors wife ended her and her husband the doctor.

I agree it should have been no more than 4 to 6 years. Give them a chance to reconnect with one another and the child a chance to develop a genuine relationship with his dad.

I just posted my review last night of it and it's definitely the weakest of the author's books that I read. I was disappointed.
