message 101: by Faith Noelle (new)

Faith Noelle Smith No, it's totally possible. Cause IC makes at least 90,000 dollars off this compain and the vidoes they make(It's true, just do your resacrch!) So it could just as easyily be a scam, or it could easily be real.

message 102: by Faith Noelle (new)

Faith Noelle Smith Thank you, Brandon

message 105: by Faith Noelle (new)

Faith Noelle Smith It's very possible, very likey but it's also could be real.

message 106: by [deleted user] (new)

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 107: by Faith Noelle (new)

Faith Noelle Smith Right, so people need to stop jumping to conculesion, aboutt this. It might not be as bad as that one vidoe makes it out to be.

Lunariette | 31 comments Everyone, calm down. I can tell you right now, my sister and I have been members of Invisible Children for almost a year. It is no scam. Why don't we just join and then, if this is true, change the form of trying to capture Kony and other bad people in the world? I think it's a better bet than sitting here arguing about the credibility of IC or the credibility of the argument against IC.

Here here! Every1's jumping into conclusions just because the media is saying this and that. Need I remind you that the media and the government (I'm no conspiracy freak, btw lol) covers this up for years. I saw a CNN report last night, and what the reporter said made me really angry. She showed a picture of the three guys that directed the 'Kony 2012' video with guns on their hands, and she wanted to know what was our opinion (the public)about it. so, the way she said it was like she was trying to accuse them of something. I believe, seriously, that all this negative idea from the media and all the bad things people are saying, translates in the very truth that there are somethings/some people out there, the people in charge doesn't want us to know. Why? I really can't say...

Kaye (carrymeaway) | 77 comments Exactly... show them what we want... make them listen...

message 111: by Hanna[h] (new)

Hanna[h] Cumberbatch (andthetheyburiedmemummble) | 44 comments Thank you, if IC was a scam I could buy a IC kony kit then sue them for millions of dollars lol.

The media doesn't want to get us involved so they want us to stop and go against IC.

And besides, so what if they have guns?!? It's America for crying out loud we have the right to bear arms!

Hanna[h] Cumberbatch (andthetheyburiedmemummble) | 44 comments And faith-

In that case then there is a HUGE possiblility that I'm an old pervert, but there's also a possiblility that I'm really a teenage girl.

In the end, EVERYTHING has possibilities to whether it's real or not. That's why we must believe it and trust them. I support IC, even if Kony 2012 is getting overrated and annoying me now. Now Kony is like a celebrity that you hate seeing all over tv -.-

You guys all just need to calm down. This group is about IC, since they came up with the "make him famous" don't like IC then you guys can leave and make another group that supports getting rid of Kony but anti-IC.

I mean, really you guys remind me of how most Americans are with voting:

American-"Oh yeah I support him I've voting for him!"

*few years later when we're all doomed*

American-"I knew we should of never voted for him he's the worst presedent ever"

Really? You just automaticly go against somethif when they make a mistake. Don't act like we all have never made a mistake because we have.

You are so incredibly smart... wow... you just said what I was trying to type... well you typed what I was trying to say or whatever.

Well put :)

message 114: by Amber (new)

Amber (bermarie) I don't understand what the fuss is about. Yes, this group has expenses and yes probably not all of it's going toward actually things that need help.

BUT!

How many other organizations are trying to do this? Do you see the other awareness groups trying to tackle this specific problem? Honestly, I don't care where my money gets put as long as it does some good, 32% is a lot better than 0.

message 115: by Hanna[h] (new)

Hanna[h] Cumberbatch (andthetheyburiedmemummble) | 44 comments Auk- no problem :)
amber- exactly!!

Now tell me this, when YOU, all the people against IC, make an organization that gives 50% or more of the money that you make when it's your ONLY job (and IC is not a buisness, they make all their money ON THEIR OWN) to get rid of Kony and help the children of Uganda and other places in Africa, call me. I'd gladly leave IC to join your orginization. But right now all we have is IC, so we might as well stick with what we have, am I correct?

message 116: by Amber (new)

Amber (bermarie) Agreed, even something like the CAI (Central Asia Institute) a non-profit organization to make schools for villages without them in central asia, gives their employees a salary. The leader of the group, Greg Mortenson, gets about $25,000 a year (More or less) for running the organization when he's building a great number of schools each year. The IC isn't making a profit, it's sustaining its employees so they can continue to work.

message 117: by E.J. (new)

E.J. (ejschoenborn) | 48 comments The leader of IC makes $90,000 a year, which is like an average salary...
The leader of the Sally Mae Foundation, however, makes over $500,000 a year... In case you don't know, Sally Mae Foundation = Pink Breast Cancer Ribbons

message 118: by Hanna[h] (new)

Hanna[h] Cumberbatch (andthetheyburiedmemummble) | 44 comments Yeah well you need to compare them. Breast Cancer orginizations get WAY more donations because it's more famous than IC, Nd more known, and it effects more people.

IC is just gettif started, and EXACTLY like how you said EJ, the owner of IC makes the average... It isn't like they're getting more!

Just think of it as fractions:
Salery/Donations

Breast Cancer- 4/6
IC-2/3

If you end up reducing it... You get the same results!

message 119: by E.J. (new)

E.J. (ejschoenborn) | 48 comments Yep, and IC actually donates more than the Breast Cancer Awareness by about 3-4% which doesn't seem like a lot until you add the zeros to it. :D

message 120: by Hanna[h] (new)

Hanna[h] Cumberbatch (andthetheyburiedmemummble) | 44 comments EXACTLY!!

But I'm not tatgetting any orginization, I beloved that they're all pretty good. But again BC is WAY more famous and they have alot more followers and people and workers.

But as for IC, wernt you against it earlier? I'm a little confused lol

message 121: by Natalie (new)

Natalie | 14 comments I think that I would be for IC because is the most that I can do from home. Even in most of the funds are not going to the right place, there are still funds going there. And those movies they are making with some of the money, it is raising awareness, and making you want to donate as well, so more can go to Uganda. I do believe they could have a better financial plan, but it looks like they are doing the best that they can.

message 122: by Hanna[h] (new)

Hanna[h] Cumberbatch (andthetheyburiedmemummble) | 44 comments Thank you.

Hanna[h] Cumberbatch (andthetheyburiedmemummble) | 44 comments THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!! SO many people think that they hve reasearxhed enough when they havnt!! Just becuse there is a % doesn't mean that it's true!!! I can hug you right now lol n__n

message 125: by E.J. (new)

E.J. (ejschoenborn) | 48 comments *accepts hug*
I will automatically be for or against something until I do my research depending on how I feel at the moment... not a good tactic, but better than nothing. :D

message 126: by Luz (last edited Mar 22, 2012 08:46PM) (new)

Luz let me get the facts straight...

1. Kony is NOT in Uganda
2. 31% of the money is actually being used
3. They have been criticized by the better better business bureau
4. Only 250 kids are actually part of the army.

SO TROOPS ARE SENT INTO UGANDA FOR WHAT???

Hanna[h] Cumberbatch (andthetheyburiedmemummble) | 44 comments No offense you guys, but I'm REALLY getting sick of how most people are like "Well only 30% goes to Uganda, that's a little bit!" When it's NOT, and when I explain why that same exact person says "Well Kony isn't even in Uganda anymore"

I mean REALLY?!? You guys want IC to send MORE money to a country when the MAIN SOURCE AND REASON for the whole damn orginization, isn't even there! I mean come on pick a side people!
