Shanna i am a big audiobook listener as i have a long drive into the office every day. I am a member at audible and i get my books realy cheap there and they have so many new releases so you can keep up with all the great series! some of my favorites are the followiing.
those i would check out first just because the narrators have amazing voices and tell the story well....i have a few others and will post when i have a bit more time......but that should get you started!
The reader is so important in audios. I have to do CD's in my vehicle so have not done any of the download ones. But I love (the series ones I have just listed the first book) City of Bones Shiver A Discovery of Witches
I download them to my ipod, it ends up being cheaper......and then there is just an adaptor for when you are in the vehicle.....also i rented alot of my audiobooks from the library.....some have a pretty healthy selection of titles!I have to say........i agree with Terri on the Mortal instruments series i have them in aduio and they were fabulous....also Vampire academy is great too! So i will add the covers for those as well!
Also another fabulous audio series was the shifters series by Rachel VIncent!
Rayna, what kind of adapter do you use in your vehicle? I don't have an ipod but I could get one if it would work when driving.
My very favourite series of audiobooks is the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Not only are they wonderful books of great scope, detailing time travel, a great love story and involvement in history of Scotland and the US, but the reader, Davina Porter brings the characters alive.Another author's books that come up well are those of Susan Elizabeth Phillips, particularly those read by Anna Fields.
Terry (Ter05 TwiMoms/ MundieMoms) wrote: "Rayna, what kind of adapter do you use in your vehicle? I don't have an ipod but I could get one if it would work when driving."there are 2 different types......depending on your vehicle and age.....
1. There may be a plug in on your stereo (in newer vehicles) that looks like a headphone jack....if you have one of these there is an adapter that you can buy that has 2 headphone jacks at each end.....then you just switch to auxilory on your stereo and play thorough there.
2. If you dont have #1 then you can buy an adaptor that plugs into your cigarette lighter and there is a little box on the cord that will read a radio statio number tune your radio into the same frequesncey and you can listen to your ipod.....this one also charges as it goes.
Both can be picked up at any electronics store just go in and ask the rep and they will help you find it.
hope that helps....i love mine and i even take my ipod to work out!

BTW all......Audible has Shadowfever on sale for $4.95 right now! Its regularily $28 This was the best and final book in the series!
ShannaI would also add the Succubus series by Richelle Mead onto the list - the series is complete - the first one is Succubus Blues
another series that just finished and all are available on audio is the parasol protectorate - historical/paranormal - the first one is Soulless
there is also a group here on GR called Speaking of Audiobooks where they focus primarily on them - so you should get lots of good ideas from them
Most of Patricia Briggs, Laurell K. Hamilton, Charlaine Harris, Christina Dodd, and Yasmine Galenorn are on audio. I usually borrow them from the library. Audible has a few you can't get anywhere else, but you need to pay up for a membership to get the good deals there.
but man does audible have good deals...lol! I just took advantage of the 4.95 one and stocked up on some random mysteries and romances that looks good
I love the Stephanie Plum books on audio. They are hilarious. I tried to listen to the Mercy Thompson books but the same author reads them and Plum so it was like Stephanie was Mercy and Morelli was Adam...I just couldn't get into it. The Outlander books are the absolute best.
Don't forget Harry Potter! The audio books are amazing.
I just started a new Audiobook group here on GR a few weeks ago. I wanted a place to find good recommendations based on genre. I didn't see a group that had exactly what I wanted so I made my own. We don't have a lot of members yet but I would love for some of you to join and make it a better group with good recommendations. Here's the link.http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/6...
By the way...some of my faves in PNR/UF/YA are:
and gotta love

which was narrated by Lorelei King as well and I had the same problem at first. Certainly since the female lead was snarky & sarcastic just like Stephanie Plum.

Hey, here are some of my favorites I've read on audio (first in series):
And right now I'm listening to

This post over at the Romance Readers Reading Challenges group is strictly about audiobooks. The challenge is to listen and rate the narrator. I doubt all the selections will be paranormal with your parameters but it might give you some ideas.
