Kim Peek Hi everyone,

My name is Kim and I haven't been in the group long. My favorite type of book is horror. I read them when I need entertained, comforted, and to wile away my spare time. I, of course, have my favorite authors, Stephen King, Peter Straub, Brian Lumley, Dan Simmons, and the list goes on.

In general I will pick a horror book before I will pick anything else. I have to be in the mood for other genres, but not this one.

Carrie | 94 comments Hi Kim,

Welcome! This is a great group of people who like books very similar to your own like list (Stephen King is my favorite too!). There are tons of interesting discussions, from what some Indie authors are writing, to games and trivia and some great conversations on specific books too! It's helped me to find so many wonderful reads - and quite a few wonderful readers!

Carrie

My first full length paranormal action adventure book Lash published in April, and my vampire series began in June with the novel Promise Me. Sorry... I've been slacking in my 'Welcoming' duties lately! :-) So... first off, WELCOME TO THE GROUP!

Secondly, I made the banner. I was thinking the group looked a little plain and we couldn't access the other banner that was submitted since she accidentally locked it. I went through, grabbed some 'horror' and 'paranormal' stocks/stills/pics and threw it together. Nothing fancy. :-) It works! LOL

Hello everyone. I've always been an avid reader and have always loved vampires and werewolves and other paranormal tales but didn't really discover paranormal romance as a genre till I read Darkest Night by Gena Showalter the year before last. Since then I've read all the LOTU, IAD and BDB. I've also started writing my own paranormal romance/erotica and paranormal horror and have had a few things published. Looking forward to chatting SJ

Faith Marlow | 68 comments Hello Everyone,

I am so happy to be a part of such an active community of book lovers, especially those with liking of the Paranormal/ Horror! Thanks Iris for pointing me this way! The most recent series of books I finished was "The Strain" series by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan. It is a great series of vampire fiction, not the sparkly kind but truly terrifying creatures. I love paranormal/ horror/ mystery/ thrillers of all kinds, including those with romantic themes. While I enjoy reading new titles, I also enjoy revisiting classic authors and titles. Currently I am reading a collection of Edgar Allan Poe and “The Resturant at the end of the Universe” by Douglas Adams. I welcome any recommendations you think I might enjoy.

I recently published my first book, “Being Mrs. Dracula”. It is the story of Dracula’s three brides, (Valeria, Ilona, and Fleur) before, during, and after the events of the Stoker classic. It is available through almost every Ebook retailer, many of which offer free sample chapters. I hope you might have time to squeeze it onto your shelf.

Being Mrs. Dracula by Faith Marlow

Between reading and writing and work, I do not have a lot of time for anything else but I do enjoy camping and hiking as much as I can. Any recommendations on books with natural, outdoor themes and/ or adventure settings are also welcomed.

Thanks for the invite,
Faith

Sara Shrieves (sarashrieves) | 27 comments Hello Everyone! I am extremely happy to be a part of this group, and to see so many people that also love horror/paranormal. :) Very comforting.

I just recently self-published my first YA book, which is called Who is Audrey Wickersham?, and it is classified as horror. Who is Audrey Wickersham? by Sara Shrieves

I also just recently changed my page to an author page! I am terrified by all of this (self-publishing) but really excited as well. I have been adding so many books to my "to-read" list that I never would have known about had I not joined this site. It's amazing.

Again thank you for inviting me and I can't wait to read many of your books!

I agree, Sara. Self- publishing is more terrifying than any book I have read or horror movie I have watched! But the good thing is you know you are not alone! Goodreads is an amazing resource for indie authors. My to- read list is expanding too!

Your cover looks great, by the way. I am going to have to check it out!

Kerrin | 6 comments My name is Kerrin from Melbourne, Aus.
As far as I'm concerned, you can never have too many books on your 'to read' list lol I tend to stick to mostly paranormal/para romance & horror stuff.

I'm a a writer, mainly poetry & had a few things published. Most of it is fantasy/dark themed but then there's times I'll turn around & come up with something completely opposite (I went through a phase & was writing little poems for children).

I've spent the last few years quite sick off & on so when I'm home alone, I love nothing better than cuddling up with a good book & my cat, Malcolm.

K.A. (kamlady) | 10 comments I do like to wander on the dark side. Strong characters and great settings are always key. Although it's nice to take a break from the darkness once in awhile so that's probably why I mix it up. Vampires, and werewolves are probably my favorite creatures. That's what fills most of my personal library.
