Choose Wisely Challenge
It has to take *human* form too?!Man, I shouldn't have asked. That makes it a lot harder. Just when I was thinking I'd gotten an easy task.
Well, it was at first. But taking your specifications into account, it would have been more accurate for the task to say "Read a book about featuring a god(dess) who takes human form", which is way more specific than "read a book about god(s)" or "read a book with god(s) in it" because gods can manifest as animals or monsters, or might not have any physical form at all.In the case of gods like Anubis and Horus, is it ok to use something with gods that take partial human form? Eg. part animal?
I'm just trying to give you clearer boundaries. Cause Kraken is a no no.
Yea partial human form is fine :)

I know what I'm going to read!!!
Your Inner Fish: A Journey into the 3.5-Billion-Year History of the Human Body
This is perfect, thanks Barbara!

You're very welcome. I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a task for this challenge. :P
I have it on audio and I'm taking a long drive tomorrow and Saturday.
I should probably mention I'll be gone tomorrow morning till Saturday :)

Can I use The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe for the god task? I know you said the god has to take human form, but to be fair, that wasn't mentioned at all in the original task. In the Narnia novel, Aslan is a god who takes the form of a lion and plays a major role in the novel, so it actually goes beyond the task specification that the book only has to have a god in it.
Ok let's say I say yes because once again I wasn't specific enough for you guys lol - loophole seekers!
I don't remember Aslan being a god?
I don't remember Aslan being a god?
I can't remember him being named as a god, but he has godlike powers and apparantly he was based on Jesus.
I finished task 297 by reading Monday to Friday man. Can I have task 535 please?
btw I am suffering through a stomach flu and will update and answer all your questions when I am once again able to do something without having to run to the bathroom every couple of minutes.

Yay, thanks! It's not stated outright in that novel, and I'm not sure if it ever is but:
- Aslan creates Narnia in the prequel, The Magician's Nephew
- In The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, he's basically an allegorical Christ who is sacrificed and then rises from the dead in an act that saves Narnia and all its inhabitants
- He's clearly immortal or has an extremely long life span, because he plays a role throughout the Chronicles, which cover thousands of years
- At the end of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader he implies that he exists in our world under another name, ie. Christ.
- He has various god-like abilities and the other characters treat him with a kind of divine awe.
All in all, it's pretty clear that Aslan is a god, specifically one who is meant to represent Jesus.
Can I have task 136 please?
Barbara - 535 - Read a book that is a spinoff of a series. So a book that is set in the universe of a series but that does not feature the main characters of the main series.
Lauren S - 136 - Read a book that has an item on the cover that looks an item you own - take a picture to show us. Now to be clear this can't be anything that is alive like a cat. It can be clothes, a pot or jewelry. As long as it has several features that are similar you should be good. But the fact that it is a necklace and on a string isn't a feature that is going to make it.

Can I have 180 next, and if that has been taken, the fist available task after it.
does someone has any suggestions for a cover with a running person on it? I have been searching my library but can't seem to find something.
There are a few options on this list: http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/42...There's also a YA cover trend with a girl running away from the camera. If you look at YA cover lists, you should come across a few of those.
Thanks guys! Great suggestions!
I am going with Let the right one in. I agree that is a running figure and I have that book and since this challenge is ending in two weeks I have limited time. My cover is different though, but Lu said somewhere that any cover of any edition of the book would count.

Sorry! Been a bit stuck in writing my proposal, I knew I had to do it and then time disappeared for a while :(
336 - Read a play that is at least 80 pages long
336 - Read a play that is at least 80 pages long
Proposal for what? And did you do it? Is it finished? I know those tasks that you just have to make yourself do and then it is best to do it in one go.
Don't worry, I was just anxious to see what my task was. I was taking a long nap so I I didn't loose any time or anything.
Oh, I'll read The Taming of the Shrew that is on my to read list anyway for the A-Z SABL and I can use it for the word of the month.
We should do this challenge again some time in the future. I really loved it and I am very sorry that it is ending. I have read some great books because of this challenge.

A proposal for my Honors, I'm forever writing something for it lol. But I want it done on the 10th, so I can review it and re-read it a million times so I can send it in to my promotor (co-supervisor) to check so he can send it back with red all over lol. Then I start on the re-writing from said red marks :P
I'm also going to miss this challenge! It was so much fun to host!! But I am going to be happy to give someone the prize :)

The god/goddess has to be human form. And they have to be in it a lot. Christian Fiction won't really count unless the character is constantly talking to God.
Why I asked when you said creature was because I was thinking about like Anubis or Horus. Both are men that take the form of animals.
