Romance between vampire and witch

I'm thrilled to be reading about a romance NOT involving a human, for a change. It's very refreshing. Anyone agree?

In all honesty, it doesn't matter that much to me. It all depends on what the characters are like rather than what they are.
And forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't a witch still a human?

this is a great book. And it is nice to read a romance that doesnt involve a human.

Guess it is do to my reading a lot of PNR and UF type of stories. That I've run across various non-human to paranormal pairings. I mean in Yasmine Galenorn's Otherworld series about three sisters and their allies and loved ones are fighting against a demon over lord, each of the sisters are a different type of paranormal. Oldest being part witch, human, and fae and married to a japanese fox demon, a white and silver dragon, and a dark elf, middle sister is a were cat, human and fae and also in one of the books she becomes a death maiden and one of her interests was human, she also had a brief time with a were puma, and now she is finally with a half black dragon half shadow walker creature, and their other sister is half fae, human, but all vampire and is in a bisexual relationship with a female were puma and a vampire over lord. And I have also recently read a story about female shifter that didn't know who she was even though she wound up falling for a guy from her pack and he helped her figure things out. But overall though I have learned from reading Anita Blake that even the "human" character of sorts can sometimes be a bit more monster than even some of the monsters. So just cause a character may be human. Depending on how the author writes them they will never be weak in relation to other paranormals.

i'm into the science/alchemy part of the book also and how smart of the author: she needed someone who could have been around in 590 and in the present - a vampire would work for that.

I enjoyed this book so much! I hope they make it into a movie someday soon. I cannot wait for book 2!!!

WoW, never knew I could read a romantic book between Vampire ans a witch. The book change my view of fantasy novel. Now I'm waiting for the next book!

I think what the poster means is the power balance is more equal, rather than the oft-visited weaker human with a powered being.
