Petra X (petra-x) I like my book covers. I just wish I could keep them nice. These are pretty but they look too much like student binder things.

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments I like the stretchy ones better cuz come can fit trade paperbacks and hardca=over but it is a good idea for mass markets

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments That makes me think about school, when every year I was covering all my books with paper!!! So, no not for me.

message 8: by Petra X (new)

Petra X (petra-x) When I see people reading on the tube or plane with a covered book I think they are reading porn and don't want anyone to know :-D

Abigail (42stitches) | 360 comments You know, I have never been embarrassed to be seen reading something. I read quite a bit of erotica and many manga, I don't really care if people notice. LOL, one time at the coffee shop, a guy tried to hit on me by asking what I was reading because "the cover looks interesting". I told him, truthfully, that it was a 17th century Chinese erotic novel. He looked embarrassed and didn't try to talk to me again. I think it's kind of funny what people will read in public...myself included.

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments I am sooo nosey when I see people read on the train. I am alsways curious. I never really cared what people thought of me on the books that I am reading. NYT had an article on how people get judged by what they read on the train. I think it's funny!

Abigail (42stitches) | 360 comments Reminds me of the scene in Lost in Translation...When Charlotte is on the train and sees the guy reading a manga (that looks remarkably like Video Girl Ai, I think) which happens to have a lot of nudity... LOL

Malena (badgalmalmal) Donna i'm with you on that! I'm always curious to see what people are reading.

I like those! Thanks Carrie!

message 14: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I think those are a good idea, but it kinda would drive me crazy not knowing what book my neighbor is reading. I'm one of those nosey people who read other people's covers.

Catherine | 175 comments It's funny, I've seen a lot of 30ish women on the train lately reading hardcovers of the Twilight series - but they've taken the covers off.

That said, I kind of love my Sony Reader because no one can tell what I'm reading - it's nice sometimes (especially in Grad school where, trust me, everyone is judging what you're reading! lol).
