No, I don't have a map because the geography is almost the same barring a couple of French towns that got sunk by the Magic Circle. What I do have is a 'bible' that contains all the little things that I mention (Campaign for real travel, Costa Del Sol Coffee houses and the like) so that I don't contradict myself.
I'm pretty steeped in this world at the moment so it's not proving to be too much of a problem for me.
Do you ever get a bit mixed up and expect things from your books to exist or work in real life?

Stormwreck really feels like an "atmospheric" kind of book (do you see what I mean or do I need to find another word?). Did you plan for it to be this way or is this just the way you write supernatural horror stuff? You don't really go into gory details (I mean you could expand, and make a real feast of it) is it by choice or is it something you'd find difficult to write?

I like scary movies. I'm not so keen on gory movies. If you look at things like THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE or THE TURNING OF THE SCREW there is no blood at all, but both are terrifying books. The imagination can do so much more than the words on the page.
I would refer you to Jenny's eloquent review of the book that says this much better than I ever could.

Jenny has pointed out that the fact that the village is cut off from the world is part of the 'atmosphere' of horror. I realy think this book is stunning. (And I don't stun easily!)

Teleportation is a staple of science fiction and it was used in STAR TREK because they couldn't afford all of the shots of shuttles landing on different planets each week.
I just borrowed the idea and put it into a 'real world' context, hence the luggage in Baltimore reference.
As to how it works, well that I made up from the limited amount of physics that my teachers managed to drum into me back in school.

I don't understand the appeal of pantomime, so I tried to write one to see if that would give me the insight.
Erm no, still don't get it.
Perhaps I didn't write a 'horror' book. Maybe it was more a 'fear' book.
