I just got her newsletter just now! 5 full-length books next year! Celebrity in Death in February and Delusion in Death in September!

Maybe she is writing all these books herself, but it is very probable that she has a very competent research assistant(s) to help help her out. This would help cut the time it takes to write her many books.
I agree, Dee. I think she uses researchers for delivering andw developing plot ideas.... That accounts for the variety!
Linda Howard and Linda Winstead Jones wrote a couple of books together. I read critiques that said they could tell the difference in their writing styles. Yet when LInda Howard Book Junkies did the Q&A last Jan with LH and LJ, they both said that the way they write they wouldn't know who wrote what. If NR/Robb does have assistants in developing her ideas and also for researching or if she does have ghost writers I can't see how anyone can see.

I hope people will just stop accuse her for hiring ghost writer. I'm a long fans of In Death books (and some Nora Roberts's as well). Some books become my favorite, some just okay, some didn't work for me. But I still recognize her voice and characters (strong women, charming men). So what if she publish more than 4-5 books per years? I know some authors that like Ms Roberts too, such as Sherrilyn Kenyon, Gena Showalter and many others, yet, no one accuse them to hire a ghost writer (or maybe I just never find it).

Anyone accusing Nora/JD of using a ghost writer has obviously never read any of her books, and if they have read her books, they don't understand her writing. How many times have we found similarities between Nora and JD? Hints of Roarke in Cian, hints of story lines to come in another series? A very early version of Eve Dallas? Anyone who's accused her of using a ghost writer just doesn't comprehend that a person can be very creative, have many diverse ideas, and the ability to execute them into a wonderful book.
Anyone that has been a long-time reader of any prolific author will hear these rumors. I've lived long enough that I've actually read some series by this kind of author that have been continued by another author. I have always been able to tell the difference between the last book written by that author and the ones that were 'ghost written' by another author, even those written using an outline or partially written manuscript by the original author.
If you think about writing as a job and write for 35 to 40 hours a week, I can definitely see being able to write a book in about two months. Also, the editing and fact checking can be done by someone else and it would still be your work. Also, a writer who doesn't write series books, is not questioned when their books are totally different.
