The agent depends on what genre you write--I suggest looking in Writers Digest. Also, I highly recommend you take a look at Query Shark, maybe even submit your query there: http://queryshark.blogspot.com/

Well, we have sent out our query to a couple agents. (We do know it takes about three weeks for a reply) our genre is fiction/fantasy, we were just looking for some good tips. Thank you!

I also would recommend following every agent on Twitter if you don't already. They are a fountain full of information and you can get a good idea of their personalities.
