You says being mad would have to be a bad thing? Surely there would be a certain percentage of insane people who enjoy a carefree, enjoyable world, even if it only exists in their own minds.

I would if I didn't have to kill somoene. Or if i went to a hospital and put someone out of their misery, but I would not make more than one no matter what

message 54: by Tim (new) - rated it 5 stars

Tim Schultz When it comes right down to it, I guess it would depend on the circumstances. I have not lived the life of Tom Riddle, who was left alone and abandoned by what he naturally considered to be the ultimate human failing of death. If my childhood had been marred by death, and I had it within my means to remove myself from such a fate, I could not say for sure that I would not take it.

Harman Badgerlord wrote: "Harman wrote: "Besides the fact that I couldn't bring myself to kill anyone besides the context I mentioned before, death is going to be such an adventure. I mean, really, I'm so stoked to find out..."

I had no idea badgers did comedy.

Ascel Kadhem NOOOOOO

Samuel Proulx Yes, I probably would. People are convicted of crimes and executed under the death penalty every day in the United States. If a murderer is going to be executed anyway, why shouldn't someone else get the massive benefit of immortality? I would never kill an Innocent, unwilling person to make one, though. Just convicted criminals or someone who wanted assisted suicide.

But I'm not surprised a lot of people would kill to achieve immortality. Every day, people kill for worse reasons, like "they didn't hand over the money", "they cheated on me", or "I was following orders". If people are willing to kill for those non-reasons, it stands to reason they'd be willing to kill for immortality.

andrea pacheco NO WAY!!!! I would never kill anyone just to make myself live longer!

Sheba Blake I'll pass, death is nothing but the next great adventure.

Aiyana, A PotterWhoLockian Ahem, Rhonda, you said it wrong!! it is 'To the well organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.'

Badgerlord Meagan wrote: "Who says their is such thing as being mad?, who defines normal?"

My conspiracy sense is tingling.

Badgerlord Harman wrote: "Badgerlord wrote: "Harman wrote: "Besides the fact that I couldn't bring myself to kill anyone besides the context I mentioned before, death is going to be such an adventure. I mean, really, I'm so..."

That's cause were not really that good.

♥ Alexia -Team Malec ♥ NO WAY IN HELL!!!!!!!!!

Charlene Yes. Definitely. I always wanted to be a mass murderer or a serial killer and being mad isn't really such a bad thing. I think it's awesome. Plus, I think becoming an immortal person is a good thing because I don't want to die and become worm food or fertilizer and the idea of being cremated is like getting burnt to ashes after you died.Double-dead. Ew. Anyway, maybe having a horcrux can make me a sociopath. I always wanted to be a sociopath. So, if I become a sociopath I won't feel regret or guilt right? Anyway, I already have a list of bunch of people that I can kill without feeling anything except joy. I've watched too much CSI, NCIS and Criminal Minds which means I know a lot of ways to kill someone and get away with it.

Me? Selfish? I know that already. Ripping my soul? That's alright. Pain is fine with me.Killing people? I think It's a way of doing the world a small favor. I think it's a good riddance. I'm sick already so becoming mad won't really add much to my personality.

Badgerlord Charlene wrote: "Yes. Definitely. I always wanted to be a mass murderer or a serial killer and being mad isn't really such a bad thing. I think it's awesome. Plus, I think becoming an immortal person is a good thin..."

You don't have to be reduced to worm juice. There is a company called 'Life Gem' (hyperlink below) which turn you cremated remains into a diamond, which, seeing as diamonds are rather hard to destroy, is the closest thing to physical immortallity your likely to have.

Also, something you may or may not know, not all sociopaths are your standard TV or movie sociopaths. Most of them have trouble fitting in well enough to become anyone, and usually are just the kind of people you don't bother talking to. Otherwise, good for you. It's good for people to have goals.

Ezra Casey wrote: "I would never do it. First off, I like my soul just where it is inside of me. I do not want to be immortal. That thought scares me to be honest.
Second off, I could never kill someone. Never."

True that, I think that, first of all, it would probably hurt a lot to split your soul, wouldn't you think? Second, to kill someone would be such an awful experience that I would probably choose not to make a Horcrux after all.

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

No way! It would be SO bad to kill someone! I couldn't even imagine ever killing anyone!

message 68: by Aric (last edited Apr 11, 2012 12:49PM) (new)

Aric Waltz I would not want to make a horcrux because I would not want to constantly be worried about it being destroyed and killing me. I would just want to go when my time comes. Also I would not be able to kill somebody to make one.

ImScared3222 Sounds painful

Hitandmiss Troll thread -

If you say Yes, then your "Evil" and totaly the Dark Lord/racist/childkilling/torchering terrible Harry hating person whos going to have a terrible afterlife.

If you say "No" then your a Harry loving, nice person, who gets to enjoy the afterlife.

Danielle never!

It's like insurance - you don't want to use it, but it is nice to know that it is there."

I agree. I think that should be the ONLY reason you should use it for.

Gracie yes i would like to be immortal, but the forever young kind, not the one where you turn into a demonic monster and have to kill people to be immortal. Also i wouldnt be myself anymore, i'd have to live my life unwhole. Not something I'd do. Ever.

Lauren Uh no! First of all, I would never kill someone!!! And second, I could never rip my soul in half!! Where does JK Rowling come up with this stuff? :)

Gracie Samuel wrote: "Yes, I probably would. People are convicted of crimes and executed under the death penalty every day in the United States. If a murderer is going to be executed anyway, why shouldn't someone else ..."

because then you personally would be contributing to the deat and hate in the world.

Kerri No. That's too evil for me. Even if I was the greatest wizard in the world, I wouldn't do it just to prove it. I bet Dumbledore could do it, but didn't because he knows better...

message 77: by [deleted user] (new)

No way!

message 78: by [deleted user] (new)

I would definately not make one! I am not afraid to die, and I will die when it is my time to die.

message 79: by Jeni (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jeni Absolutely no. Never.

I don't care if it made me Queen of the Universe and Mrs. Johnny Depp.

No.

Rashika (is tired) Noo.... i couldnt kill someone in order to make a horcrux. besides i am okay with death so i dont need to make a horcrux.

You described my feelings perfectly. I am super creeped out by the people who said yes. I would never, repeat: NEVER kill anyone.

No, people just admitted they would kill people. Don't apologize for being disgusted.

Are you crazy? I really can't find the words to express my horror.

Emily Colby Besides the fact that you have to commit MURDER, trying to live forever in this life doesn't appeal to me. Remember the immortals in Fablehaven?

message 87: by Aena (new) - rated it 5 stars

Aena i could never kill anyone. don't want to kill anything. and living forever would be torture. /shudder

Mikaela hells to the yeah, if i had a chance i would. jokes

MJ Gabriel wrote: "You would be surprised how many people on the Mugglenet forums answered yes. But those people also tended to say that they think using the Unforgivable Curses would be "fun"."

These people need serious counseling.

Dakota People who say that using the curse (imaginary as it is) would be fun are just trying to get a reaction. Murder for the sake of murder is anarchy (some people pretend to want this) and it is fun to make hypotheticals, but when it came down to it, those people who say they would would not even come close.

Gabrielle I wouldn't. We are unable to for a reason: God gives us this life and he chooses how long our life should be. Killing someone + living longer than we are supposed to is not right.

message 93: by [deleted user] (new)

yes i would do it. i know it is awful to say but if i could have anything in the world it would be immortality. if there was any feasible way i could attain it, i would never stop until it was mine. like in percy jackson, it is my fatal flaw. i would try to kill someone bad though. like someone in azkaban.

Renisse I think we do have horcruxes in a way... our offspring. Our ancestors live on through us and so on and so forth.

Dakota Fran wrote: "yes i would do it. i know it is awful to say but if i could have anything in the world it would be immortality. if there was any feasible way i could attain it, i would never stop until it was mine..."

Murder is murder is murder no matter how you slice it. Seems like a selfish dream for the unfulfilled.

Dakota Fran wrote: "Dakota wrote: "Fran wrote: "yes i would do it. i know it is awful to say but if i could have anything in the world it would be immortality. if there was any feasible way i could attain it, i would ..."

You only think you wouldn't care because you have never seen death in front of you. I was the same way when at one point.

Sarah Narp

Amarys no, if i am to be alive , it should be me in the entirety not me missing a piece of myself which is preserved in an item. add to the fact that i'd have to kill someone is out of the question. although i am far from a goody-two-shoes i do not believe i am mentally capable of ending someone's life just to prolong my own.

Epohzamboneeneez NO WAY!!! i would never make a horcrux!!!
