Dear Friends,

Below are ten questions on The Toy Sorcerer, your answers to which will be invaluable feedback as I write The Final Prophecy, the second of ‘The Ancient Knowledge’ series.

I’m running a little advanced giveaway competition which will run until October 2012. The Final Prophecy is due for release: 21st November 2012 - one month before the 2012 prophecies.

My five favourite answers to the competition question will receive a paperback copy of, The Final Prophecy, prior to its official release.

Thank you for participating in this Q&A on The Toy Sorcerer; much appreciated!

1. Who is your favourite character and why?

2 Was there a principal character you didn’t connect with in some way?

3. Were you at times all or any of the below - perhaps quote a little text to illustrate:

a. Amused

b. Angry

c. Sad

d. Disturbed

4. Did the plot keep you guessing, or were you way ahead of it?

5. Did any part of the book initiate a particularly strong emotion?

6. What was your favourite chapter/passage from the book?

7. What do you believe Alice has Become?

8. What would you like to see more of in The Final Prophecy?

9 Would you recommend The Toy Sorcerer to your friends?

10 Your ‘sound bite’ review of The Toy Sorcerer.

Competition Question.

You are Belial’s monster, the Gremon. Your mission is to bring about the end of modern human civilisation with one simple act that creates the most misery and distress.
What will it be?

J.R. Barker | 12 comments 1. Who is your favourite character and why?

Shammerwack and his tail, I found him to be the most endearing character.

2 Was there a principal character you didn’t connect with in some way?

Leona

3. Were you at times all or any of the below - perhaps quote a little text to illustrate:

a. Amused- Shammerwack (again) made me giggle, also the beavers were a merry bunch.

b. Angry

c. Sad- I felt for Alice and how she was burdened by her past.
I was also particularly saddened by the death of the snake dragon; for some reason I was really drawn to her as a character and I really felt her frustration and fear in her last moments.

d. Disturbed- Alice being possessed by the Gremon. The thought of being trapped in your own head by something else is always a disturbing concept.

4. Did the plot keep you guessing, or were you way ahead of it?

I was ahead of Alletelitt, I knew what the anagram was. As a newcomer I never connected with him, whether this is because I had worked out the anagram or not I don’t know, but I never really felt that he developed as a character.

On the other hand, I never guessed Merlin would be the camelion, or that the gremlin would be the shadow dweller. I certainly never expected the Gremon to get the better of Alice at the end.

5. Did any part of the book initiate a particularly strong emotion?

In the beginning when Alice and her father were introduced.
When Alice relived her car crash.
The final battle of the one and only snake dragon.

6. What was your favourite chapter/passage from the book?

The scene where Leona and Black Jack attack Lillian’s defences with earthen soldiers and a bottle full of angry shadows. Also the scene with the twins (gruesome I know.)

7. What do you believe Alice has Become?

A high priestess/ minor deity?

8. What would you like to see more of in The Final Prophecy?

More of an explanation as to why Leona’s sister is ‘evil’. What prompted Merlin to choose the dream realms to settle in? How did Leona end up as one of the last defences of the witches? How and why did the Gremon choose innocents from the waking world and wipe their memories, why not use hardened criminals?

9. Would you recommend The Toy Sorcerer to your friends?
Of course

10 Your ‘sound bite’ review of The Toy Sorcerer.

A well written, steadily paced book about a group of people attempting to prevent the world from falling apart at the seams.

Competition Question.

You are Belial’s monster, the Gremon. Your mission is to bring about the end of modern human civilisation with one simple act that creates the most misery and distress.
What will it be?

Cut off electricity. No communications, no transport, no sleep. Slowly the world would fall to looting, hunting and develop an attack on site mentality. It would become a dog eat dog world and a bad ass’s utopia.

Cheers, Jo!

Just the kind of feedback I was after. Thank you. I can see you are looking for more history and motivation from the other principal characters. Good, more in depth stuff coming in The Final Prophecy.

Would you mind posting your review on Amazon for me - a lovely one to add to the others.

Thanks again for participating - much appreciated.

Cheers,

Laura
