The American Booksellers Exchange opened in 1996. It is a reader's Mecca for books of all types, from all countries.
I've noted many readers in the goodreads community going to great lengths to find a copy of a book for a group read without success. Inter-Library loans can take a good deal of time.
The solution? The American Booksellers Exchange. I've had an account with them for years. You can find almost any book for pennies, plus reasonable shipping. Readers' copies of elusive titles abound. Or, if you're the gently mad bibliophile, go for the signed first edition, first print. I've never had a problem with any book ordered through their network of dealers.
Here's their website: http://www.abebooks.com/ Drop by and explore. The Exchange offers an incredible amount of information for readers, including an active community of forums.
