Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief
By Rick Riordan
What if the gods of Olympus were alive in the 21st Century? What if they still fell in love with mortals and had children who might become great heroes — like Theseus, Jason and Hercules?
What if you were one of those children?
Such is the discovery that launches twelve-year-old Percy Jackson on the most dangerous quest of his life. With the help of a satyr and a daughter of Athena, Percy must journey across the United States to catch a thief who has stolen the original weapon of mass destruction — Zeus's master bolt. Along the way, he must face a host of mythological enemies determined to stop him. Most of all, he must come to terms with a father he has never known, and an Oracle that has warned him of betrayal by a friend.
Read more about the adventures of Percy Jackson as he deals with a life of becoming a half-god and half-human, retrieving a lost item, becoming a prime suspect and unravelling a treachery in this award winning book, The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan.

Author in Focus
Rick Riordan
The Lightning Thief is the first book of New York Times Bestselling Series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians written by Rick Riordan. Follow Percy Jackson as he discovers that he was a demigod- half human and half Olympian god; retrieve Zeus’s stolen property (his lightning bolt), bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves. This just follows up Percy Jackson’s adventures as this series ends on The Last Olympian, and continued by its sequel series The Heroes of Olympus.
With a perfectly-paced, with electrifying moments chasing each other like heartbeats writing style and hordes of young readers who have devoured his books, Richard Russell “Rick” Riordan Jr. proved to be worthy enough to receive numerous awards such as 2011 Children’s Choice Book Awards: Author of the Year.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Riordan started writing as a young adult. He wrote short stories, unsuccessfully submitted a few of those stories for publication, and edited his high school newspapers. But he didn't take writing seriously until after he graduated from college and was teaching in San Francisco. While Riordan and his family (wife Becky and sons Haley and Patrick) enjoyed living in California, he was nostalgic for Texas. On an impulse, Riordan decided to try his hand at a mystery novel, which he set in his hometown of San Antonio. Featuring a private-eye/English Ph.D. named Tres Navarre, Big Red Tequila was published to rave reviews in 1997. Today, Riordan's Tres Navarre series has won the top three awards for the mystery genre-the Edgar, the Anthony, and the Shamus.
This just started Riordan’s fruitful success. Already an award-winning author of mysteries for adults, Riordan, a former teacher, was asked by his son Haley- who became the basis for Percy Jackson, and some bedtime stories about the gods and heroes of Greek mythology, became his inspiration for the Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series.
With The Serpent Shadow, The Mark of Athena, and yet another Norse mythology series like the Greek, Egyptian and Roman ones, Rick Riordan still continues to satisfy his beloved readers with more books with this year and the years yet to come.

I hope what I made is good!

Bad news...
Tomorrow, I'll just pick up my Kumon which means I won't meet the main instructor, who I planned to give my work. And I won't be online tomorrow for there will be a power interruption all around the Philippines. No electricity = No internet = No RPing. D:

What is the bad news, and are you on now? Sorry about it... I was either in Chinese, or DT, or spanish class.

So, the bad news. Last Monday, our teacher gave each of us a piece of paper to evaluate the performance of our teachers for the whole year. I gave positive comments but a slightly negative one to one. Then I added "Other Comments: Be sure to maintain the high quality of education. And, I felt as if though I was in a public school". On the first sentence, I was talking about a new teacher of mine who is not that good! But the second one caught a commotion about me and the teachers. I wasn't talking about them! I was talking about my classmates and schoolmates! Since my school was mixed up when I started high school, (I studied in my school since I was in grade 1 and never left since)and I HATE the attitude of my other classmates. They were such a rule breaker! And doesn't know anything to do but to bully people and always add beautiful products.
Since then, until now, every teacher talked to me about it. And... I really feel guilty for saying that. **sighs** :C
