Persuading an author to write about a favourite character?

I wish Thea Harrison would devote a book to " Venom". Her website lists every character but him as having a book coming in the future. I am curious as to the lengths that others have gone to in an attempt to persuade an author to write about a particular character?

Who is Venom? I'm reading now Rune's book. I'm sort of disappointed that next release will be about Dragos and Pia again. There are so many interesting characters that I would like to know more such as Duncan and the other sentinels.
