In the sense of writers block = not knowing where to take the story, what happens next? Never experienced that. I plan intricate plots long before I start writing. In the sense of not knowing how to best write a particularly sentence... sometimes. I just write a filler in (the first words that come to my head), highlight it, and go back during the 2nd, 3rd or 4th edit runs.
Exercise.Turn off the internet.
Learn to write everyday (I'm finding blog posts don't count toward my weekly goal word count).
Act out the scenes in your head.
I keep a long-hand journal of conversations with my characters.

I find my brain goes into neutral (writes naturally) when I have the TV on and listening to my music. It's funny how that works. I haven't had a writer's block yet, but I do recognise when I am more receptive to writing.Just because you want to write doesn't mean you should.
This is an article I wrote about overcoming writer's block: http://www.helium.com/items/1338306-o....The article can also be found in my book of essays, Essays for the Soul, which includes several other essays about the craft of writing.
