No, I was just trying to divert her from the fact that it's me who rambles on. You don't post long-winded comments at all.
Layers of subterfuge abound here. I used to have very short hair. Died it black cherry. Now I work at a church. It's long, I die it medium brown, and wear it pulled back.
I keep thinking that this is my time to experiment with hair colors before I get an office job, but I just can't seem to dye it. Never have. The most adventurous I've ever gotten with my hair is having a large bald spot, which was a total oops and I no longer shall trim my own hair.
I cut a hole in my hair twice and husband had to Sharpie it in every morning until it grew back. It brought us closer together.
LOL Tressa.....I have never done that. I did accidentally dye my hair purple. I have red hair naturally....but I sometimes dye it those brighter red colors. I have even put pink highlights in my hair.
wow, talk about a difference of opinionScott, what are the names of those stories you mentioned that have done a better job with a subject? I'd be curious to check them out
I've read some non-dreadful short stories where nothing much happens. At the end I'm like, "eh." For me enough happens in this short story to make it enjoyable. I think maybe Fitzgerald didn't take the story seriously enough because of the tongue-in-cheek way he lays out Benjamin's life, and maybe that's how the execution could come off as "dreadful" to some readers, but it strikes a chord with others and it certainly did with me.

oh wait...was that sarcasm?
and as far as hair goes, mine sticks up all the time, not because it's so short, but because it's so stubborn
