I loved this book. It felt like a foreign film. There were lots of detail and interesting characters and developments, with the story unfolding slowly to its conclusion.

Did anyone believe the boy was naked simply so his clothes couldn't be traced as was stated? I think there was a little something lurking in the abductor's mind--a latent pedophile perhaps? The wife also seemed to think so.

Meet me in Malmo by Torquil MacLeod, Burned by Thomas Enger and I remember You by Yrsa Sigurðardóttir.

If you want a good book ca I suggest Ethan Justice: Origins. this I couldn't put down.
It's been a while since I read this book, but I do remember liking it. It was very tense. Nina wanted to help the boy. The police didn't believe the mother, and maybe the Danish police wouldn't have believed things enough to figure out what was happening.
I enjoyed the book very much. There was enough suspense to keep me motivated to read on. I had a few confused moments trying to remember who was who and where they were but overall I thought it was a great read.
It took me quite awhile to get into this book, not identifying the characters made it a difficult read. Good ending though.

I really liked this book when I read it last year. Like others have stated,I found the characters interesting.I am currently reading Death of a Nightingale which I am enjoying also.
AS I read it I was not too thrilled with the book, found it kind of dark (but I guess that was the idea) but as I went along I was more interested in seeing how the story developed and how it would end. Now a couple of months later I like I like it more.
I enjoyed it-it kept me turning the pages but it did leave a lot of unanswered questions which I thought was disappointing.I liked Nina-I liked the fact that she was an amateur detective and I think some do-gooders are like her in that they neglect their families.
I really enjoyed this book. Luckily, when I am reading a book I am able to suspend disbelief unless the plot is totally implausible. AFterward I may pick holes in the plot, or I just move on to the next book. The character of Nina was maddening but believable as a seriously flawed/damaged personality. Drama does not happen without conflict and sometimes that conflict is inside one character. I read it several months ago and could not put it down. I think I would read more of the books about Nina. but I wish I had read them in order. There was an implied previous book?
