Val are we supposed to think that she was raped by this man before he was sent away for treatment--hence her closed in life and line of a mouth-- and couldn't recover so decided to get her vengeance by having him kill her? She dressed so vividly and acted so outrageously so that she would not be missed and he would be caught absolutely for sure?

William2 No, she was just a nut.

I don't think she knew him before. She spent too much time looking for the "right guy" and coming close to testing them to the extreme in some cases. If she actually knew who she was seeking, I think she would have skipped the rest and stalked her eventual killer, from the very beginning of the book.

I concur. She was just a nut!
