Catie (gollywollypogs) | 53 comments Six down and Six to go for Pike's Peak...
Flight from the Eagle
The Eagle's Fate
The Changeover: A Supernatural Romance
Some Brief Folly
Thief of Time
The Beekeeper's Apprentice

These are all books I've been meaning to read forever....

Inda
Goa
The Harsh Cry of the Heron
Northbridge Rectory
Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day
The Home-Maker
The Winter Queen
A Tale of Two Cities

These may be subject to change as I go on but I'll be very pleased if I finish them all...

Hi Catie! I like your profile picture from Totoro. :)

Miss Pettigrew is a fun book, and a fun movie. I hope you get to read it this year.

Thanks Hayes, I'm sure I'll love it, just need to get in and started...

Hi Jeanette, great to meet a fellow Totoro fan! I feel that Little Mei is a truer representation of the inner me than any photo could be.
I've started Miss Pettigrew a couple of times over the years but put it down. Hopefully this will be the year that I crack it.

I had to double check with my daughter that your picture was the little sister from Totoro. Miyazaki has a distinctive style, so I wavered between Totoro and Ponyo. You must be a fun person! :)

Do try Miss Pettigrew, and then watch the movie, too.

Catie (gollywollypogs) | 53 comments Aye Aye, Jeanette, will do.

I looked at your bookshelves -- not only do you watch anime, but you are an Austen fan, and a Terry Pratchett fan! I've started following your reviews, and found a book on your shelves to add to my tbr pile! Just what I need, yes?

Catie (gollywollypogs) | 53 comments Hi Jeanette, following you back. Looks like you like fairy tale re-tellings and that's something of an obsession of mine...

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

This should be fun! I'll take a closer look.....

Catie (gollywollypogs) | 53 comments Having got half way up Pike's Peak, I'm starting to think of upgrading to the next level.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

It's only March -- I think you could make it easily! :)

Catie (gollywollypogs) | 53 comments Thanks, Jeannette, I'm finding there's nothing like a challenge to focus my attention.

I'll wave from Pike's Peak, when I reach the top!

BTW, here's a great site to find some images. Yes, you can get to the top of PP via rail. I did it and what fun. http://cograilway.com/

Do click on the videos.

Misfit | 198 comments It was a gas, although the altitude at 14,000' is a wee bit thin. We were a bit delayed going back down because of mechanical difficulties and everyone was getting a bit silly from lack of oxygen. It gives me a healthy respect for those who can CLIMB the mountains.
