Kyle 16

I think eighth grade and up is good. I think overall the books are a little too dark for a sixth grader to completely understand. But then again, I had reading problems when I was younger, so maybe sixth grade is about right.

message 160: by Alli (new) - rated it 5 stars

Alli I just read it a few months ago. So, I was 18. I didn't even know there was such a hype for these books. I just got Amazon Prime and could rent a book for free...so I got the number one book for Kindle. And now I'm here :P

I wish I would have known about these when I was younger, maybe around 14.

Firestormkittycat I was 14 or 15, cuz that's when they came out, but my little sister read them at age 11. She wanted to read them earlier but I wouldn't let her. The age totally depends on the maturity of the person.

I believe I was 12, but I MAY have been 13. I DID NOT want to read it at all to start but then I had to read a science fiction for class and my teacher recommended it to me. Soooo I read it. And loved it. Books and subjects know no age. If your mind is mature enough then you are perfectly capable of reading, comprehending, and loving this series.

I think if she understood and liked the Harry Potter series she will be perfectly fine with the Hunger Games if she's interested. There's PLENTY of death in the Harry Potter series. (another one of my favorites!) the Hunger Games is a fantastic read for children, too. It just depends on how well they can comprehend the main idea, I guess.

Isabelle i read it when i was in sixth grade so what ever age that is seems good to me:)

Calista 14, Its an awesome series!

Tabatha I was 25 when I read the first book. I'm reading the second book right now.

message 184: by A (new) - rated it 5 stars

A I was around 10 and I absolutely loved it. I think it really just depends on the maturity level of the literature and television a person has been exposed to.I have re-read it several times since then and have liked it and understood it better each time. It is definitely a very eye-opening book, but it really just depends on the maturity level and understanding of the reader.

SEMI PRECIOUS JADE 12 and i loved it.

Allie 11 i thought it was awesome!

Galadriel Thoman 30, and I love them! My 15 year old, last year, had to read the first book for required reading in English (in the 8th grade) How cool is that? He didn't care for it, but I still think it's pretty interesting that they chose it. My son is at that stage when if it's popular, it must therefore suck, and be made fun of. You don't even want to hear what he thinks about Twilight. (although I have my own problems with Twilight, but for much different reasons!)
