I let a moan escape my throat as I shivered from the scratches she left on me. It felt painfully good. I let my hands grip both of her thighs, hoisting them up so they framed my waist. "I was really close to my dad," I said, leaning close to him so my head was nestled under his chin. I ended up telling him things about my dad, and suddenly we're in a completely different position on the bed. He ended up lying next to me, and my cheek was now pressed against his chest. Tears started to come out of my eyes as I told him things about my dad, how close we were. "It just... I held Terra gently, my hand tracing patterns on her shoulder with my fingertips. I hadn't realized how sleepy I was until she settled against me, her warmth soothing me.

As soon as he left, I took the time to curl up and let the tears out. Nobody ever saw Vexia Halderson cry, but they had no idea that she was even capable of it. I buried my face in the pillow and let out sobs. My feelings were Cad were the epitome of fucked up, because I didn't know what they were. I hated him, but I didn't at the same time. I just didn't know anything anymore.

Terra

I soon fell asleep to the steady beat of his heart and the rise and fall of his chest. It was the best sleep I'd had in a long time.

Cad

I didn't know what time I fell asleep, but I did. And I woke up and it was just breaking dawn((LOL)). I noticed that I was smeared with dirt all over my chest and back. I probably wallowed in the ground beside the lake last night. I sighed and got up, heading up the stairs to mine and Sage's room. I saw Vex still sleeping in the bed, so I stayed quiet and got into the shower.

Sage

I woke up, gasping for breath as my head started to spin. I had a nightmare of Terra getting mauled to death by another pack of Magic Weres. It wasn't a pleasant scene at all; definitely not something I want to live in real life. I glance beside me, at her sleeping form. A smile tugged my lips.

Vex

I heard the sound of a shower running as I started to wake up and rub the sleep from my eyes. My cheeks felt itchy with dried tears. I immediately hid my face in the pillow again before Cad gets out of the bathroom. The last thing I wanted was for him to see that I'd been crying over him.

Terra

My vision was blurry when I slowly opened my eyes, but when it cleared, I peered up and saw Sage's warm smile, and my heart did flip flops. "Good morning..." I whispered. I couldn't believe he stayed with me all night. I was sure he would've eventually left me.

Cad

I had a towel around my waist when I came out of the bathroom, steam was still rising off my body from the hot water. I was stupid enough to go into the shower without fresh clothes afterward. So, I went to the bag on the bed, right beside Vex, and opened it up silently. I grabbed what I needed and headed back to the bathroom.

Sage

"Morning, beautiful." I said it before I stopped myself, as I felt a blush rise up my chest to my neck. I smiled sheepishly, a finger curling in her hair. "Sleep well?" I asked in a whisper.

Vex

I decided to just pretend to be asleep until he was completely out of the room. I would not show my face to him until I was all cleaned up. Hell, I wasn't sure I wanted to show my face to him period.

Terra

"Mhmm..." I mumbled, then glanced at the clock on the wall. I realized something. "Where do you think Vex and Cad are?" I asked Sage. Did Vex know that he stayed here with me? Was she pissed? But if she knew, why didn't she just force him awake and shoo him out? That seemed like the Vex thing to do.

Cad

Once I was dressed and cleanly shaved, I headed back out into the room with Vex. I went over to her side of the bed, right in front of it. I landed a hard flick of my fingers on her bare hip. "Wakey, wakey." I said.

Sage

"I don't know, really. She might be out scouting the place or something." I hardly paid attention to what Vex did, it was her business. It was kind of a rule between us, what she did was her business and what I did was mine. I sat up in the bed, squinting at the sun spilling through the curtains.

Vex

I stayed still, even though I was tempted to both kiss and smack the shit out of him, at the same time. God, I was going insane.

Terra

I hesitantly got out of Sage's arms, yawning and stretching. "I'm gonna shower, okay?" I said, running my fingers through my wild bedhead hair, smiling shyly at him.

Cad

I smiled. I knew she was awake. I flicked her pretty hard, and she was just too still for a sleeping person. I smiled wider, then slapped her ass cheek hard enough to leave a red hand print. "Wakey." I said again.

Sage

I nodded at her, smiling. She was so cute in the morning, with her wild hair and half-lidded eyes.

Vex

"Get the fuck away from me!" I growled, rising up so I was on both knees on the bed, and I pushed him as hard as I could, making his back slam against the door. I stayed there panting for a while, giving him a cold glare, before I realized he could see my face clearly now, how red my nose and eyes are. I quickly turned away and lay back on the bed with my back to him.

Terra

I grabbed some of Vex's clothes and walked towards the bathroom. Then I heard some sort of loud, slamming sound, and I jumped. I looked at Sage with wide eyes. "In the meantime, maybe you could check if Vex and Cad are okay?" I asked, chuckling softly. "They might've been murdering each other last night."

[Whitney]

Cad

I was a bit surprised when her hands pushed me back until I was against the door. But then I saw her face and felt a little bad for striking her. She had to have been crying last night, her eyes and nose was pink from tears. I sighed and rubbed my neck. "I'm sorry..."

Sage

I laughed a little, standing up. "Alright, I will." I watch her back, as she went into the bathroom. I sighed contently, but then sighed again out of frustration. I had a feeling that my day was about to be ruined, as I opened the door to go out in the hallway to Cad's room.

Vex

"Save it," I said sharply, getting out of bed and putting on my clothes from yesterday. "Just get the hell away from me." Right when I was all dressed up and walking out of the door, Sage walked in, and I patted his shoulder as I passed him. Then I headed towards Terra and mine's room.

Terra

I showered and brushed my teeth, then dried up and got dressed, fixing up my hair. I had this urge to look good around Sage for some reason. When I was all ready, I walked out and saw Vex sitting on the edge of the bed, looking as if she'd been crying, which surprised the hell out of me. "You okay?" I asked her, but she just forced a smile at me and said she was fine, then walked into the bathroom. I wondered what the hell happened between her and Cad last night.

Cad

I felt really bad right then, but then I felt angered. If she was going to get mad at me for last night, then so be it. It wasn't all my fault because she was enjoying it, too. So, I kept on a straight face when Sage walked in, looking a bit taken aback when he passed Vex.

Sage

Surprise slammed into my chest when I saw Vex's face; pink and puffy, like she'd been crying. Then, rage replaced my surprise. Before I knew it, I had Cad by the collar of his shirt, and pinned against the wall beside the bed. "What happened last night?" My voice came out in a sneer.

Terra

I walked out of the room and headed towards the boys'. Sage was pressing Cad against the wall, and my eyes widened. "Hey hey hey, no fighting," I said as I walked through the door, startling them.

Vex

I showered for a long while, trying to get Cad's scent out of my body. How would things be with us now, I wonder? Would we never even speak to each other again?

Sage

I dropped Cad as Terra came into the room. I didn't want her to see me like this; violent and barbaric. But that wasn't even a fraction of what my temper was like. I gave him a pointed look, shooting daggers with them. I turned abruptly and left the room, going back to the girls'.

Cad

I almost wanted to tackle Sage to the ground for what he just pulled, but a glare from my sister stopped me. Whatever Vex and I did, was our fucking business. Especially that. I didn't care if Sage was up Vex's ass or not, it's none of his concern. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down.

Terra

I smiled at Sage as he walked past me, and then turned my face towards my brother and walked towards him. "Hey. What happened? Not only just now, but . . . last night." I sat on the bed, looking at him with a concerned expression, trying to read his eyes but finding it difficult. "Between you and Vex. What happened?"

Vex

After I showered and dressed, I got out of the bathroom to find Sage sitting on the bed, seemingly staring into space. "Hey," I greeted him, putting my dirty clothes in the spare plastic bag I brought along. I hoped he wouldn't see how sad I was, because he was usually good at that, reading my eyes like an open book and finding even the tiniest bit of sadness in them.

Cad

I wanted to tell her off, to tell her that it wasn't any of her business. But I couldn't do that to my sister. Hell, she was just asking a simple question. And I should tell the truth. I looked at her with a hard expression, not really meaning to. "We fucked." I stated, plain and simple. Served on a silver platter.

Sage

"Hey," I replied, monotone. I looked at her, noting the puffiness in her eyes had gone down, but the pink lining them was still there. "Why were you crying?" I asked, my voice firm with concern.

Terra

I stared at him blankly for a while, not really sure what to say. What was there to say? It wasn't as if Vex was our enemy. I actually liked her and considered her a friend. But I had no idea Cad felt that way too. Or did he? "How?" I ended up asking, voice low. "Like, how the hell did that end up happening?"

Vex

On the inside, I sighed in annoyance. I knew he'd find out, even if I washed my face like a billion times already. But on the outside I just gave him a confused look. "What're you talking about?" I said with a disbelieving chuckle. "There's many things Vexia Halderson does and crying is not one of them. You of all people should know that."

[Whitney]

Cad

"It just did." I said flatly. I really didn't want to elaborate any more on the subject. And by avoiding that, I started going around the motel room, packing "my" things into the bag that was on the bed.

Sage

I gave her a drool stare. "Vexia, I think I know when you're upset and when you're not. And you've cried before, and I know what it looks like." My voice was hard, only to get the point across. "Tell me what's wrong."

Terra

I rolled my eyes and gave an annoyed sigh. He was being such a dick about it. I just walked out of the room and headed back to mine, where Sage was sitting on the bed and Vex was pointedly not looking at him, seemingly pretending to sort out her clothes.

Vex

"No, you've never seen me cry, Sage," I said firmly. "Because Vexia Halderson does not cry. Especially not over a fucking mer boy, so just drop it, okay?" I tried to look busy by folding up my clothes before putting them back into my bag.

[Whitney]

Sage

I laugh acidly at Vex's words. "That's all I needed to know." Was all I said before Terra walked back into the room. I stood up and walked back into the room where I had left Cad, about to punch something. Maybe his balls.

Cad

I sat on the bed once my clothes where packed and ready to go. I ran my hands through my hair, sighing out of frustration. I was seriously considering taking Terra and dropping out of this whole ordeal. It was getting us no where now. The door banged open to the motel room, and Sage stood there, in all his wolf-ish raging glory.

Vex

"Fuck," I said under my breath, and then stood up and took Terra's arm. "We better get there before he neuters your brother." I led her out and down the hallway to the guys' room.

Terra

To be honest, I wouldn't mind if Sage beat him up. Cad did something that made Vex cry, after all, and I though it was sweet of Sage to want to teach Cad a lesson. Vex on the other hand, looked as if she didn't want any more drama. She tugged me into the room and then shouted. "Evander, stop."

Sage

I felt the swirling burn of the shift right in the pit of my stomach, ready to burst any second. I should have looked really creepy, from what Vexia had told me in the past. Though, I actually hadn't done anything yet, because I was still standing there, contemplating on what I should do with this dick of a merman. But, I turned around and looked at Vex with an innocent look. "What?"

Cad

I almost got scared at the way Sage had looked at me before he looked at Vex. His eyes had started to glow orange, with black around the irises. Creepy as hell. To add to it, a shadow had passed over his face, making his eyes seem to pop more. I guess that meant he was about to shift. I blew out a breath of relief when Vex and Tee came in.

Vex

I stared at him. "Just... Don't, okay? Come on, let's just pack up and go." I walked out of the room without even glancing once at Cad, dragging Terra with me.

Terra

Call me crazy, but I definitely felt as if Vex had...feelings for my brother. I noticed from how stiff she was earlier, and how she pointedly refused to look at him. "You okay?" I tried to ask her, but she only shrugged and then continued to pack up.

[Whitney]

Sage

I rolled my eyes, so wanting to flip out now. Don't do this, don't do that. Sooner or later, this wolf inside me is going to come out...in front of everybody. And it's not going to be pretty. Without looking at Cad now, I started packing our things, not even caring to fold the clothes.

Cad

I just sit there, watching the wolf stuff things into our duffle bags. I wanted to smile at Vex for basically saving my ass, but I know it was a lost cause, because she wouldn't even acknowledge my existence before she turned and left. I couldn't ignore the sudden hurt that filled my chest at that.

Vex

Several minutes later we checked out and got back into the car. Suddenly all I wanted was to just take these two back to where they lived. Or at least Terra, because I liked her. But we had to stick to the plan. I offered to drive this time, and Sage actually let me for once.

Terra

I climbed onto the backseat, thinking Cad would be sitting next to me, but I was surprised to find Sage sliding in beside me. I grinned at him, even though I knew Cad would probably be furious to have to sit beside Vex.

[Whitney]

Sage

I barely smiled back at Terra, pissed-off-ness written all over by face, I bet. I've been told that I'm an open book when I get angry, so Vex tells me. So, I'm sure Terra could see it all over my face. I didn't really care though, I was too mad to care. I wanted to shred Cad's ass so bad.

Cad

My chest seized up as I slide into the passenger seat, seeing Vex in the drivers'. I was hoping Sage would drive, but that would actually be worse, since he wanted to kick my ass. I didn't really blame him. If someone did what I just did to Vex to my sister, I'd kill 'em.

Terra

My grin faded and my heart clenched a bit, but I hoped he didn't see my disappointment. I guess I should've understood that he was pissed right now. I just looked out the window and sighed.

Vex

I drove on without once looking at Cad. I mean, how could I? I'd probably end up screaming and crying right on the spot if I did. I'd just lose myself completely. I didn't even know where we were driving anymore. The road went on and on.

[Whitney]

Sage

I felt a bit bad right then, seeing the disappointed look on Terra's face. To make up for it, I snuck my hand over the middle hard cushion between us, and wrapped my fingers around hers. I kept looking out the window so, I wouldn't see whether she approved of it or not.

Cad

The side of my temple was leaning against the frame of the window, looking out at the ongoing nature and cars and buildings passing us by at an ungodly speed; courtesy to Vex's driving. The tension in the car--or at least between the two of us in the front seats--hadn't changed a bit. It probably could've gotten a few degrees hotter from Vex's temper.

Terra

We drove and drove. The whole time I kept wanting to say something to Sage, but was afraid he was still pissed and wouldn't want to talk. I kept looking out the window instead. We suddenly passed buildings, and I think we arrived in some kind of small town.

Vex

We'd been driving for hours, and I could tell everyone in this car was hungry, so I pulled up at a diner. I glanced at Sage, knowing that this was the town where the pack we were headed to lived. I looked at him with a question in my eyes, because I still didn't know if we were going with our plan anymore or not. Would we just ditch these two?
