Cad

When the panties were removed, I look up at her, softening my gaze. "You're probably right," I sighed, closing my eyes. "But don't expect me to get all cozy with them, after they just tried to kill us."

Sage

I nod, agreeing with her on that last part. "I know, me neither. Just seems not worth it anymore. But I do think we could lead them to another pack, that's seems like the best way to go." I shrug, rubbing my stubbled chin. There actually was no other way around it, unless I wanted to get myself seriously hurt or killed.

Terra

I smiled. "Of course. I never said you have to be nice to them. Just... Try not to get on their bad side too often. They're the ones who have the upper hand here." As much as it annoyed me, it was true. We were so far from the ocean, my powers were way too weak. Cad could probably still use his, but it would take a lot of effort and would probably leave him gasping for breath afterwards.

Vex

"Alright then. Which pack were you thinking of?" I figured the pack should be far, so they'd eventually get completely lost and we could leave them there.

[Whitney]

Cad

I just huffed and settled down against the bed, wishing the ties that bound be were gone. I stare up at the ceiling, wondering how this was going to play out.

Sage

I think about that, scrunching up my face in concentration. "We could send them to the Denali pack. They hate us with a passion." I smile, remembering how the pack from the national park sent us home with pink and yellow slips.

Vex

I laughed. "Yeah, we should. And they're really far, too, so that's good. It'd be like...damn, I don't even know how many hours the drive will be."

Terra

"Hey," I said softly, squeezing his shoulder. "We can do this, okay? Even if they decide not to help us... We could still at least try. You know... Unless they killed us." I meant it as a joke, but... There was still a part of me that feared for my life when it came to those two wolves.

[Whitney]

Sage

"I know," I smiled wickedly, punching her shoulder softly. "Road trip?" I let my voice come out in a squeal, like a little girl who's excited for her first barbie doll.

Cad

I huffed again, but it was more of a laugh than a sigh. "Oh yeah, I know we can. It's just I don't like being tied up at the moment."

Vex

I gave him a weird look and then opened the door, walking back to my room. "Good news, you two, especially you, mer boy." I winked at him. "We're going to help you guys." I walked over to the mer guy and started to untie him, all the while giving him a look that said Don't get any ideas or you'll lose your private parts.

Terra

I let a smile form on my face and gave it to Sage. "Thank you," I said, genuinely grateful.

[Whitney]

Sage

I instantly felt bad for them, my eyebrows drawing together. The way the girl smiled at me genuinely made me wish that her father's killer wasn't me. Then, I scolded myself for thinking that. Why would I care about what this girl does or thinks? I sighed. "My name is Sage, by the way." I say to the merman, because I'm sure the mermaid already knew it.

Cad

Once untied, I gave the were girl a dirty look and swung my legs over the side of the bed. I look at Sage, with a blush rising up my neck. "I'm Cad. And this might be the last thing you'd here from me, seeing as we just met... But I kind of need some clothes." I look at the were girl with complete disdain. "She threw my other ones away." I hear Sage laugh and see him nod, as he turned away--hopefully getting me clothes.

Vex

I leaned my back against the wall and laughed quietly. "Oh man, you crack me up. Call me Vex, by the way. And you are?" I asked the girl.

Terra

"Terra," I said. I unclipped the bra my brother was wearing. Wow, I thought. What a sentence. It took all my power not to burst out laughing.

Sage

I came back into the room with a white T-shirt and a pair of regular blue jeans. I laid the clothing on the end of the bed, and stifled a laugh as Terra unclipped the bra from around Cad. "Ahh, Vex. You have such an imagination." I clap a hand on her shoulder.

Cad

Oh, how I wanted to kill them all right then and there. Even my sister. I could see the raw laughter in her eyes, and the small smile tugging at the edges of her lips. It made me madder beyond all reasoning, as I pulled on the clothes Sage had placed next to me.

[Whitney]

((Might be gone too. Gonna go get breakfast soon. :3))

Terra

I could sense the burning anger radiating off of my brother, and I squeezed his hand, hoping to calm him.

Vex

"So, are we all set?" I asked Sage, then I turned back to the mers. "You two'd probably have to ride in our car, since your car is completely totaled." I chuckled when Cad's face flushed with anger right then. It actually looked...cute.

[Whitney]

Cad

I almost wanted to shake my sister's hand off me, but her touch soothed me a little bit, my anger simmering down. But it only revved back up again when Vex mentioned my car. I forced down a growl and crossed my arms tightly over my chest.

Sage

I laugh at Cad's anger showing through his eyes and flushed face. I motion for them to follow me. "Alright then, our destination is a long ways ahead of us. So we'll have to stop at fast-food places, hotels, etcetera, regularly for the next few days." I turn back to them, mainly looking at the mer people. "Hope you're up for it." I smile wickedly.

Vex

"I should pack," I said. I figured there'd be no harm in bringing a decent amount of clothes. Besides, I could share them with Terra. It actually felt nice to have her around. I'd rarely ever hung out with other females. She was like a little sister figure to me. "We can share the clothes, by the way," I told her. "I don't mind."

Terra

"Thank you," I said, giving her a grateful smile. Cad and Sage walked out of the room while I stayed to help Vex pack up. She had numerous clothes that were pretty skimpy for her size, but they'd probably fit me just right.

[Whitney]

Sage

I walk out of Vex's room with Cad in tow, taking him to my room. The clothes I had given him were a bit too long and too big on him, but he'd just have to do. I grab two suitcases from my closet, and start packing a few shirts, jeans, and underwear in both. I look at him out of the corner of my eye, and almost smile. He couldn't have been more awkward, standing against the door jam with his arms crossed. "So, you excited?" Just to break the tension, which I don't normally do.

Cad

I didn't really want to answer that question, but I had a feeling I had too. Just to be friendly to the friend of the person who just tied me up with women's underwear. I scoffed and shrugged. "I'm about as excited as I can be, I guess." To show it, I gave him a drool stare that got a snort out of him. Hm. Maybe he wasn't so bad. But I was still cautious around him.

Vex

Once we were all set, we met the guys outside and put our bags in the trunk. Then I climbed onto the passenger's side while the mer siblings took the backseat.

Terra

I held Cad's hand again. It was the only thing that could erase my doubts and fears. I still couldn't fully trust these wolves, and I knew Cad felt the same. All we could do is hope. "Is this place that we're going to close to the ocean, by any chance?" I asked. I desperately needed ocean water. Not that I needed it to survive. I just felt...incomplete without it.

Sage

I glanced over at Vex once we were in the car. My eyes were worried and somewhat fearful. I suddenly had no idea what to do with these kids in the back seat once we were done with them. Scared shitless actually. "Alright, everyone settled?" I looked in the review mirror to find that the mermaid had chosen to sit behind me. I smiled at her and started the car. "There's a lake near the house we're going to. Is that okay?"

Cad

I squeeze my sister's hand as we settled in the backseat. I brought her fingers to my mouth and kissed her knuckles sweetly. If anything, my sister was the anchor to holding me at bay from these lunatics in the front seats. "Yeah, we're ready." I sighed, looking out the window, and still holding Tee's hand.

Terra

A lake wasn't exactly what I was hoping for, but it was close enough. "That's fine," I said, returning his smile. I secretly hoped Sage would smile like that more often. It actually made him look...sweet. I blushed and stared out the window as we started to drive away.

Vex

The whole drive, I was constantly bickering with Cad. It was like the guy disagreed with everything I agreed on. Sage and Terra seemed to have been lost in a quiet conversation of their own, but there were smiles on heir faces. I was beet red with fury. "Screw it," I said finally, slumping back down on my seat with my arms crossed. "Think whatever you wanna think."

Cad

I let a smirk show on my face, as I look at Vex's red face in the mirror on her door. I actually did agree with some stuff she said, but the frustration on her face was just pure priceless. I had to keep going. But when she settled down against her seat, I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. "Aw, I'm sorry. Did I bruise your ego?" I pouted my lip, but flashed her a genuine smile in the mirror.

Sage

I actually couldn't believe how much Terra and how talked. I kept flashing her small, sweet smiles in the review mirror, just to see that cute blush appear on her cheeks. And we were surprisingly quiet to ourselves despite the bickering next to us. I knew right then that I was going to get a headache. So, once we were about an hour into our drive, I pulled off to the nearest fast-food restaurant, which was Burger King.

Vex

"No, but there's something you have that I'd like to bruise," I said with a devious grin as we got out of the car. I gazed pointedly at his crotch as I said it. "Heck, I don't know why I didn't just crush it on sight."

Terra

I groaned. "Would you guys please shut the hell up? Jeez." Of course, they ignored me. They bickered all the way inside the fast food joint. I stayed close to Sage, sighing. "I guess we'll just have to deal with them screaming at each other all day then, huh?"

[Whitney]

Cad

I barked a laugh at Vex, almost bending over to catch my breath. It was half genuine and half pretending. "Oh man," I whipped a fake tear from the corner of my eye. "Stop it, you're gonna make me burst something." As if she didn't want that. But hell, gotta have some fun sometime right?

Sage

I snort softly, as I patted Terra's shoulder. "I guess we'll have to. But don't worry, Vex ignores me almost everyday." I send a wink in her direction, giving her a smile as we come upon the cashier. "What would you like?" I ask Terra.

Vex

I held up my palm to him in a "Whatever, bitch" gesture, Kingsley style, then pointedly ignored him. I walked to our table and decided to just let Sage order for me, since he knew what I liked.

Terra

I wondered what was with the sudden sweetness coming from Sage. I barely even saw that scary, intimidating wolf man from a few hours ago. I wasn't complaining, though. I liked this sudden change in him, even if he made me blush way too much. "Oh, anything, really. I'm not exactly that hungry."

[Whitney]

Sage

I nod in response to Terra's reply, and order a few cheeseburger combos and a twenty piece chicken nugget. Once they set two trays of food down for me to take, I grab them both and carry them to the table Vex had picked. Cad was sitting on the other side of her, bickering and smiling in a way I didn't like. So, I sat beside Vex, setting down the food on the table.

Cad

"Mmm, food." I moan, as I pick up a burger combo off one of the trays. I hadn't eaten in a while, so this was the most heavenly thing I tasted right now. As my sister slid in next to me, I noticed that she had a slight blush on her cheeks. Narrowing my eyes at her, I look between Sage and Tee. Hmm.

Terra

Vex and my brother stared at each other with narrowed eyes the whole time they ate. They were eating really fast, too. "Are you kidding me?" I said, rolling my eyes. "Ugh. No words." I just shook my head and continued eating my nuggets.

Vex

I ended up scarfing down my burger before he did, and I threw up my hands and did a little 'whoop' of victory. I felt like everything was a competition or worth bickering over with Cad. Even if he pissed me off so bad, I found our hatred towards each other to be pretty fun sometimes. At that moment, I could even see what looked like the corners of his lips pulling up ever so slightly.

[Whitney]

Cad

I sigh dramatically, throwing my hands up in a whatever, fuck off way. I lean back against the booth's cushioned backrest, and glare at her deliberately. I still had fried in my mouth, still scarfing them down because I was actually hungry.

Sage

I laugh and roll my eyes at the two, then looked at Terra with a soft expression. It seemed like she wasn't having a good time at all, and I felt bad for her somewhat. "Vex is like that with me too, just so you know." I smile and wink at her.

Terra

I smiled back at him and looked down a little, feeling a blush heat my cheeks for the three hundred and fifty two billionth time. Jeezus, this guy. It was hard for me to even think straight with that cute smile of his.

Vex

I groaned and tilted my head up, my back resting against the backrest. "Ugggh... I'm so full." I think I ate too fast, because I kind of felt like barfing.

[Whitney]

Sage

I decided to be a little brave--braver than I usually am--and softly nudge Terra foot with mine under the table. I will my foot to slowly travel up her calf. I kept eating though, as I gorge my mouth with french fries. I wanted to smile, or to laugh, actually, but I wanted to keep this moment just between the two of us.

Cad

I feel my sister stiffen suddenly, also seeing a faint smile wanting to tug at the corners of Sage's mouth. Playing footsie, huh? I glance under the table, acting like I dropped a fry, and see Sage's leg creep up Tee's shin. What the...? I feel rage boil inside me. No were-freak is going to do that to my sister. So, I gather up all of my courage, and kick Sage in his calf as hard as I could, sending a jolt through my own leg as I collide with hard muscle. I then see Sage smile evilly in my direction, obviously unaffected by my efforts.

Terra

I looked over at Cad and narrowed my eyes at him, sending him a What are you doing? look. I nudged Sage's foot back softly, and then kicked Cad's hard.

Vex

"Ooh, I wanna join in," I said, and then I kicked Cad's foot, at the same time Terra did, making him howl with pain. I burst out laughing.

[Whitney]

Cad

After calming down, as the pain eased away from both of my shins, I stared out the window with a hard expression. I rubbed my calves, trying to rub the excess pain away. I probably looked like I was about to cry, staring out the window, but I was really getting ready to lash out at Sage and Vex.

Sage

"Vex, stop." I said firmly, as I put my own feet to my side of the table, after feeling a little fluttery when Terra's foot nudged me softly. I glance up at her, sending her a small smile. I could see Cad's face from where I was sitting. And, from the look on his face, I didn't want to cause anymore trouble. His whole face read murder.

Vex

I let out a sigh. "Fine. I'm gonna go wash my hands." I stood and walked towards the ladies' room. Cad's face looked as if he were about to cry, and that should have made me laugh out loud, but in truth, it kind of made me feel bad. I hoped no one noticed how stiff I was walking.

Terra

I touched Cad's shoulder. "Hey, sorry," I whispered to him. "But you did start it, you know." I shrugged and sipped from my coke, secretly sending Sage a Can we please just get out of here as soon as Vex is back from the bathroom? look.

[Whitney]

Cad

My head almost whipped around on my sister, but I just stayed in place as my anger almost simmered to the surface again. "Actually, Sage started it. Not me." I glared at my sister, and sipped at my Dr. Pepper.

Sage

Cad was actually right about me starting it, and it almost made a small blush rise to my cheeks. But I pushed down the feeling and let it go, as I nodded in response to Terra's look. I sent her one that said I'd be glad to.

Terra

I sighed in relief when Vex came back, and the four of us just got the hell out of there. I had no idea why the seating suddenly changed and I was in the passenger's seat with Sage and Vex and Cad were in the back. No one commented.

Vex

Besides Sage and Terra talking, the whole trip was pretty quiet. I refused to look at Cad, and he probably refused to look at me.

Cad

I pushed myself against the door, almost wishing that it would spontaneously burst open so I could get out of this tension-filled car. It was driving me to that point where I wanted to do that to myself. I just stared out the window, avoiding all contact with the hellion next to me.

Sage

After Terra and I had stopped talking for a little while, I couldn't help but glance over at her. She was looking out of the window intently, with her elbow resting on the window frame and her palm supporting her chin. She looked like she was deep in thought. It was kind of cute, the way her eyebrows were crinkled together made her look a bit younger.

Terra

When we made it to the motel, I was so glad to see that it was near a big lake. It didn't give me relief that was quite the same amount when I'm near the ocean, but it was enough. My shoulders sagged a little, and Sage parked the car and we got out.

Vex

I grabbed my bag from the trunk and Sage got out his, and the four of us walked inside to speak to the receptionist. She said that there were only two rooms tonight, and they each had king-sized beds. That wouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't mind sharing a room with Terra. I smiled at the thought of the guys sharing the same bed.

[Whitney]

Cad

I definitely would not be sleeping in the same bed as a guy tonight. Or any night, at that. I probably would sleep out in front of the lake, or in it. That would be nice. I didn't even bother telling anyone where I was going, as I headed straight for the water.

Sage

I gathered mine and Cad's things and put them in our room. I kind of figured he went somewhere else besides here. Which was okay with me, it would give me more time to myself. After everything was settled in my room, I headed to the girls' room.

Vex

I let out a breath as I finally got everything settled. I decided I wanted to get some fresh air, and it was getting pretty dark outside, just the way I liked it. I also wanted to see if this place had a Jacuzzi or not. "I'm gonna go outside, guys," I said to Terra and Sage, then gave them small waves as I walked out of the room.

Terra

I was sitting on the bed, a little nervously since Sage had walked in, and my nervousness increased when Vex left us alone. "Hey," I said lamely to him, smiling shyly.

[Whitney]

Cad

The motel was pretty close to the lake that was just behind it. Given that, I heard a door close loudly, and footsteps pounding on the cement sidewalk. I sighed. I had rolled my jeans up my legs, and my feet were in the water. I didn't feel like undressing just yet. I needed to calm myself, rid myself of this stress that was hording me at the moment.

Sage

"Hey," I replied smoothly, but not really on purpose. I felt calm but nervous when I'm around Terra, I noticed. I feel like if I say the wrong thing, she'll leave. I don't know why I have that fear, but it was there and it was hard to bare. I let my eyes take in her beauty, my gaze traveling from her hair, to her legs.

Vex

The dusk air was cold, and I hugged my arms. I looked around for a while, exploring the place. There was a small pool, but it was deserted. No Jacuzzi. I sighed and walked towards the direction of the lake, where I saw a figure. As I moved closer, I noticed it was Cad. When our eyes met, his gorgeous face twisted in a nasty snarl, and I groaned loudly, immediately stomping away. He was such a bastard.

Terra

Silence. And not the comfortable kind, too. The awkward kind. All I heard was the distant chirping of crickets. "So..." I started nervously, peering up at him. "You tired?"

[Whitney]

Cad

"Ohohoo, no." I said it in way as if a fight were about to break out. I got up out of the water, and rolled my pants legs down. I jogged to keep up with Vex, and grabbed hold of her bicep, jerking her to a stop. "What's you're problem?" I almost yelled at her, my anger level rising to about infinity and beyond.

Sage

"Not really," I said one second after she asked the question, my eyes going soft as they met hers. I smiled in a impish way, as I thought our awkward silence was adorable.

Vex

"My problem," I spat out, jerking my arm away from him and stomping back inside, "is your existence in this world." I gritted my teeth and sent him daggers with my eyes, making them their color when I'm in wolf form.

Terra

"Well, I kinda am," I said, smiling back at him. "But not in the sleepy kind of way, you know? The exhausted, oh-my-God-my-back-hurts kind of way." I patted the space beside me. "You wanna sit?"

[Whitney]

Cad

I didn't care we were inside the motel, my voice kept at its high volume. I'm pretty sure hardly anyone was in this cheap place anyway. "Well, I'm so fucking sorry I'm such a nuisance to you. Why don't you just kill me, and save your anger for someone else?" An idea popped into my head, and I smiled. "Possibly for Sage. But wait, you're too far stuck up his ass to do that, huh?" I crossed my arms over my chest, as I followed her.

Sage

I hesitated a moment, thinking that through. I did want to sit next to her, but what happens if I do? I could feel the heat coming off of her from when we were in the car sitting side-by-side. And it drove me wild. But I didn't care at this moment, I just wanted to be close to her. So, I got up after a few seconds, and sat down next to her on the bed. My weight made the mattress sink down, and made her thigh press into mine.

Vex

I stopped dead in my tracks and his chest bumped against my back. We were right in front of the guys' room, and it was open. I suddenly grabbed him by his shirt and flung us inside. His back knocked against the wall so hard, his head probably had a concussion. I flashed my canines at him and dug my elongated nails into his shirt and flesh. "You seem to be forgetting who the fuck has the upper hand here, asswipe," I hissed. His feet were off the ground, but I let him fall back down, hard. "I could fucking kill you right now. Slowly." I grinned evilly at him. "Hell, I'd probably record your tortured screams and send them to my iPod."

Terra

The bed creaked when he sat, and I chuckled. Even sitting down, he towered over me. I should have been intimidated, yes, but that smile... I had no idea a guy like him could have a smile that was so warm and sweet. And damn contagious, too, since it was impossible not to smile back.

[Whitney]

Cad

It hurt a little when my back hit the wall, the impact jarring my spine all the way to my head. Hello, massive headache in the morning. Once my feet were set on the ground, I didn't show any sign of pain or fear. It didn't really surprise me that Vex had this reaction, but it was better than just cowering away. "No, I don't forget. I just like to have a little fun here and there." I smiled right back at her, showing all of my teeth. "I'm pretty sure you know how to have fun, too, right?" I winked at her knowingly.

Sage

Her little chuckle made fluttering sensations appear in my stomach, making me smile and chuckle right back. "Sorry. I'm kind of...big." I didn't know what else to say in a moment like this. The heat of her body coursed over me as soon as I had sat down, making my own body tense up with frustration that I couldn't touch her.

Vex

"Depends on what you mean by 'fun'." I stared down at him coldly. "I'd be happy to kill you, but I won't do that to your sister. I like her." I gave him a hard kick in the stomach, enjoying his groan. "Bye for now, mer boy." I turned and started walking towards the door.

Terra

I giggled. "It's alright. I like big guys with a soft side." I blushed as I said this. I could feel how warm he was next to me, and I imagined being wrapped in his arms. That immediately made me blush harder.

[Whitney]

Cad

After the pain had subsided from her kick, I grabbed her forearm before she got too out of reach. "Wait just a minute," I pull her back, with strength too, because she was restraining like the bitch she is. I didn't mean for what I did next to happen, but it just did. I kissed her. My mouth was on hers before I could even register the thought. It was a rough kiss, my lips clamped on hers hard.

Sage

Oh, really? My thoughts just went to goo at that, as I looked down at her blushing face. It was so adorable on her. So adorable in fact, that I lift my hand, and skim my thumb across her cheek, tracing the blush.

Vex

The kiss caught me off guard, but I leaned into it for a while. As soon as I snapped out of it and realized what I was doing─or rather, who I was doing it with─I broke it off and pushed him off me. Oh God. "Whoa, what the─"

Terra

My eyes went wide when he touched my cheek, and my face turned incredibly red. I didn't expect him to do that. When I looked at him, his eyes stared back at mine with such a warmth in them, but he seemed as if he was dazed or something. "Um... Sage?" I said softly.

[Whitney]

Cad

I cut off her words, by pushing her hard against the wall that she used me on. There was a huge mantel on the wall of a deer's head, and it rattled threateningly as I pushed Vex against the wood. Payback, I thought, as I noted the eerie glowing in her eyes whenever she was in her wolf state. That just seemed even sexier, thought she was clearly madder. I pressed my lips back to hers crushingly, as my teeth nipped at her bottom lip.

Sage

Two things jogged me out of my daze. One, Terra's soft voice. I looked at her and noticed what I was doing, my hand frozen on her cheek. I felt heat creeping up my neck, as I snatched my fingers away. Two, a rattle that seemed like it was two or three doors away from us sounded throughout the hallway. "What was that?" I asked, but didn't really care.

Vex

I bit down on his lip and tugged, a moan escaping me. He knew I enjoyed this, but I didn't even care anymore. My nails ripped his shirt to shreds (Sage would be pissed at me for ruining that shirt) and my nails left scratches on his chest, which to me made him sexier. I crushed him to me and devoured his lips hard enough that I tasted blood.

Terra

"What was what?" I asked, but then I noticed what he was referring to. I heard rattles nearby. I shrugged. "Probably a small earthquake or something." I pulled my knees up to my chest and stared at him, thinking I should probably try to start a conversation. "So, um... I've actually only heard of 'Magic Werewolves' just this week. What makes you different from regular werewolves, anyway? I read about it in a book, but they weren't really all that informative."
