When I first decided to self-publish, I looked at Smashwords and thought I would reformat my manuscript myself. After spending time with their Style Guide, I decided to forget that and pay someone to format the book for me. I used Lucinda Campbell. She was reasonably priced (sorry I can't remember exactly what I paid), prompt, and accurate. She supplied me with multiple versions for each distributor (goodreads, Smashwords, Kindle).
