my unpopular opinion: i like the infernal devices more, but they're both good. i recommend this weird order: mortal instruments 1,2,3; infernal devices 1,2,3; mortal instruments 4,5,6. not sure if this entirely makes sense but it gives a bit of context to the last few books :)
