Hope you like it, it's one of my favorites!

I'm reading A Taste for Monsters which so far has excellent writing, Holding Up the Universe which I am a little leery of because of the mixed reviews, and Bright Smoke, Cold Fire because I adored Cruel Beauty.

message 8929: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (starryeyeddreamer) | 4 comments A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness

Loving this book so far. It's about a young scholar who finds an old magical tome, which causes various creatures to seek it. She's a witch who refuses to use her powers. There's also a vampire, who I presume will become her love interest. Very engaging thus far. :)

The Assassin's Blade (Throne of Glass, #0.1-0.5) by Sarah J. Maas

Just got this one for Christmas, as well as Throne of Glass. Excited to begin!

I really love the Assassin's Blade and the Throne of Glass series. After reading the enitre series, I've come to appreciate Assassin's Blade even more - it really provides great character insight and showcases some awesome characters we don't spend much time with.

message 8933: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm reading Heartless. To be honest, not enjoying anywhere near as much as the Lunar Chronicles. Maybe because I was never a big fan of Wonderland as a fantasy world. But... I'm persevering.

message 8934: by Nima (new)

Nima (nerdtanima) | 8 comments Dark Matter by Blake Crouch The Anatomy of Fascism by Robert O. Paxton

I started Dark Matter yesterday. It is really suspenseful so far. I'm also reading The Anatomy of Fascism. Fascism as we know it today is not exactly an ideology, so Paxton attempts to illustrate the many faces of fascism, how it became popular in the 20th century, and whether similar movements are possible today.

Oh no, really? I was thinking about picking it up soon since I loved her Lunar series. What about it isn't working for you, if I may ask?
