M.J. Kane (mjkane) | 82 comments Hi everyone!!! Man I have been crazy busy! I had no clue the release of the book would be this time consuming! I was told, but it never really hit until publication day! And what do you know, it hit the bestseller list in a few hours and has stayed there ever since because I am working it! I hope everyone is well!

I've got a great blog post coming up tomorrow that you ladies may want to share your thoughts on...I'll post that link tomorrow. Until then, Happy Sunday!!!!

Peggy, I always enjoy your blog with its little "extras"
and you nailed it when you said "books are simple"
I feel challenged constantly to learn new techie things at home, work, with my writing - it is a relief to simply pick up a book and know exactly how to work it.
that said - I just downloaded your novel "A Stop in the Park" on my kindle :)

Karen My "Thoughts on Motherhood" blog can be found at www.karensnovels.com. I also wanted to tell you that my novella, "Made for Two," is available for free today and tomorrow at Amazon or www.tinyurl.com/madefortwo

Here's what it's about:

Diane acted on instinct when she broke up a fight at the inner-city school where she teaches. When the superintendent suspends her, Diane returns to her hometown of Foxworth. Almost immediately she finds herself tracking down her old boyfriend, Tim. Just seeing him rekindles her love and she realizes that her life, just like her tandem bike, was made for two.

Unfortunately, Tim keeps pushing her away, claiming it will never work out. After all, she still wants to live in the city and he can’t imagine leaving his family’s bakery. But Diane discovers there’s more to it than that. Tim has been hiding in this small town because he has a secret.

Happy reading!

Hi All,
The book launch is alive and well. Since September 20 "A Stop in the Park" has been ranked overall on Amazon anywhere from #332 to #340,000--not bad since there are over 8 million books. Four local bookstores are carrying it along with a hanful of libraries. I have my first reading and signing on Thursday and another scheduled at the Saratoga Barnes & Noble as soon as my paperwork is processed at their warehouse. Did I skyrocket to the top of the charts--absolutely not. Am I having fun with all this--totally. Check out pictures of my book launch party at Kick Back Moments http://pstrack.blogspot.com. I'm heading over to 4 Broad Minds and Karen's blog now. Have a great weekend! ~ Peggy

Oh man where to begin! First of all, CONGRATS Peggy! Your off and running!

As for me, A HEART NOT EASILY BROKEN broke into the top #100 on Amazon Bestseller in Multicultural Romance within hours of publication...it's been holding on ever since! The highest it got was #4 last Saturday, and has since ranged from #5 to #8 on a daily bases. My publisher is floored. It's also broken into African-American Literature & Fiction and averages between #14 to #18 in the top 100...#1600 average in all Amazon books. It's gotten 9 Five Star Reviews, 4 Four Star and 4 Three Star...not bad for an unknown author who's only been published for 22 days! I participated in my first author meet/greet last week at my local library (posted pics on my FB page) and will be blogging about the community event next week. I've been asked to participate in several local book selling events as well as a dinner for abused women. Not bad!

Hi Peggy and all, I am doing the footwork to self-pub even though I am still not convinced I have the stamina for all lit takes. I spent spring/summer reworking from editor notes and now my MS is literally in the mail, coming back from the proofreader. I so admire those of you who have taken the self-pub plunge
