Yeah, well. This year people are raising awareness for it so that he is captured and brought to justice.
Why now?...You got scamed. I looked into the Invisible Children company they on average make 13 million dollars a year. Only 31% goes to the causes.
I didn't donate money or anything. And if you think about it, it takes a lot of money to spread the word, go talk to officials, airfare costs for that stuff etc etc. But it doesn't matter whether I support IC or not, it matters that Kony has been free too long and needs to be brought to justice. No time like the present.
I would understand if you said that 6 years ago but it's a scam. How did you find out about this anyway? Youtube? Facebook?
Uh, A friend sent me a YouTube link. Honestly I don't think it's a scam. It's like saying the Red Cross is a scam in a sense then. These guys have a cause and it's something I think we should work for to help stop one way or the other.
Ok so I saw the video. But they never said Kony was all over Uganda. It's like the forced marriage/women's abuse in India and other countries. It's not the whole country that's like that, but a few places the gov. doesn't watch/take care of well enough. My parents laugh to that the abuse of women is going on everywhere in India but say that in a few poorer territories is occurs. Same here, Kony goes to the weaker areas that are in a way ignored by the gov.
It still freaks me out that the Kony 2012 video got 40,000,000 in 4 days. How? Because people like Oprah, Rihanna, Justin Bieber etc etc. I don't believe everything I see on the internet. Because it's a bunch of scams. I double check things I see, I don't automatically think something is true because it got a bunch of hits because people blew it way out of porportion. Besides LRA is the group you should be trying to stop if thats your arguement not just the leader because someone can be replaced.
Eh, when I say Kony I normally mean him and his back up group. I check things too. And how can it be a scam if such influential/famous people support the cause? I don't like though how uninformed the US seems to be about this stuff. Did you know 2 years ago there was a terrorist attack on a Muslim Mosque by so called Muslims? No, because the US media sucks and doesn't want us to be informed.

I haven't even seen the video. Honestly, I don't feel like getting myself caught up in that. I'd like to live in my perfect little bubble for a bit longer. I think... that everyone can have their own beliefs on it, and I definitely agree with both sides. I can see Katie's point, for sure - and even if they mean well, it sickens me how much influence celebrities have on that kind of thing.

She gets money because they used her face, so people will buy their product because they recognize her.

No because they get paid to advertise. The more you watch a video, youtube gives them money. Thats why Ray William Johnson makes $604,000 a year and he doesn't even have a legitment job besides youtube.

Yeah the gov. sucks in more ways than we know but honestly why would the government support a scam? It wouldn't make sense, they check into these kinds of things first so I highly doubt it's a scam and that the gov. would support it if it were.
That's true, they just want an excuse to go in and in a sense 'take over.' But doing it because of a scam? Doubt it. But like you said, whether or not the US tries to take down Kony, someone has to. Honestly I think projects like this, to stop monsters like Kony, are things that can unite the world with one cause. Can't the nations get along for that?

Yepp, that's why I don't do sports. But that's horrible. Sucky coach there, seems like one of those strict ones from those movies about teens with sucky lives
