Hey! I'm Kaley. This is the first group I've joined since making this account. (I used to have one a couple of years ago.) Anyways, I absolutely love to read. So many favorites, but I really love The Infernal Devices, The Mortal Instruments, The Chemical Garden Trilogy, and the Shatter Me series. My favorite author would have to be either Ellen Hopkins or Cassandra Clare. Happy to be here. :-)

Hello, all - thanks for letting me join Addicted to YA! :)

Let me tell you a bit about myself: I'm a rabid fan of YA fiction and have been since I was young. In fact, I love it so much that I've been writing it since 2008.

My love of fiction came together to form a Transformer-like structure of passion to become a full-time creative professional. I go into more detail here but I think you can understand why I'd want to take something I'm passionate about and turn it into a full-time job! :)


Aside from my own stuff, I love YA stories like The Fault in Our Stars and Wool. I love dystopia and cyberpunk, too ... books like Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? In fact - one of my prized possessions is my original Blade Runner one-sheet that I have hanging in my office. It collects all of my Comic-Con contribution tags (http://i.imgur.com/oZL9d5Ul.jpg).

As with favorite books? Currently, I really love the Legend trilogy, Aristotle and Dante discover the Secrets of the Universe, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Doghead, The Importance of Being Earnest, Paper Towns, Roses, Okay for Now, and Wool. Some of my favorite authors include John Green, Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov, and Marie Lu.

Of course, that doesn't mean I'm subjected to only those kinds of books above and only those authors because I will practically read just about any book in any genre. :)

Throne of Glass series if you haven't already read it or The Final Empire - which is INCREDIBLE

Hi Angel and Cora! Cora- If you want a realistic-fiction I would suggest Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. Made my heart melt I'm so not afraid to say I cried haha. Or the Lunar Chronicles for a sci-fi. And the Infernal Devices for fantasy. Haha there's a lot xD

Colleen Hoover has quickly become my favorite YA author. I've been itching to check out NEVER NEVER. However, my disappointment at it being not only short in length, but part of a series in which I will have to wait impatiently for the sequel has kept me from buying it.

Thoughts from those that have read it?? Worth it?? Should I give in and buy now or wait....

I loved Never, Never! But I also know some people that said it wasn't her best. I wouldn't know because never, Never was the first book I've read by her. After that, I started reading more and I love her writing too!

Hi, I'm Kate and I live in New Zealand. I read and write plenty of YA (despite not quite being in the age bracket anymore!). When I'm not writing, I'm riding my horse and running the local Pony Club, and working my office job (not quite as much fun as writing and riding).

I have 3 YA books published on Kindle, with another one due out next month and a fifth by the end of the year - if I can find the time to get them finished!

Hey, I’m Tom. I work as an entertainment attorney for my day job, negotiating and drafting contracts for films. I got turned on to YA dystopian fiction when I had to negotiate the film rights for a novel my client was producing. After that I was hooked. I enjoy screenwriting (I’ve had several scripts optioned), and I’m adapting one of them into a YA sci fi action novel (it’ll be my first). Favorite book series hands down was “The Hunger Games.” “Divergent” was also a great read, along with tons more.
