Dana Hey, my name is Dana, I'm 24 and live in the Great North. Obviously I love reading and just this year started actively reviewing. It's amazing how many free books you can get when you start giving feedback. I am always looking for friends on Goodreads as none of my real life friends love reading like I do. Favourite genres are Dystopian/Paranormal/Young Adult. I am currently taking online prerequisite courses in the hopes of eventually becoming a dental assistant. That's all for now folks!

message 2818: by Megumi (new)

Megumi (megzbrownlee) Hi, my name is Meg, and I love to read; I try and read more adult books, but the teen books are also pretty good. The only thing I don't like about YA novels is that it's all about romance, and it's kinda like having the same lunch every day; you get tired of it. But then again, there are still a lot of good books out there. Anyway, I love GoodReads, and other websites. My hobbies at home are to read, draw (sometimes), and go onto my brother's laptop when I can!

Hey Austin, have you tried The Maze Runner series? I've only read the first 2 but they were pretty good. Also, I kind of recommend this series to everyone because it's my favorite, the Escape From Furnace series by Alexander Gordon Smith. If you're into horror, that is definitely a series to try! :)

message 2828: by Isis (new)

Isis (isisunit) | 1 comments Greetings & Salutations,

My name is Isis. I'm a rabid reader, and now that I'm unemployed maybe I will be able to increase the number of books I read (once I finish all the legal wrangling and applying for SSDI, etc.)

I won't narrow my favorite authors down to one as I don't think it is remotely possible for me. I have several beloved authors and the list order varies upon my mood or simply the number that my memory pulls them up in :-)

But - brief list that is in NO WAY complete, or even in any particular order:
Diana Gabaldon, Tad Williams, Jacqueline Carey, Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews, Shel Silverstein, Stephen Douglas, Neal Stephenson, Chuck Palahniuk, Karen Marie Moning, JA Huss, Douglas Copeland, AG Howard, JD Robb/Nora Roberts, Seanan McGuire. . . I could go on for days. That's actually probably true - how scary! I think I need to get out more :-)

Anyhow - at present I am working with an iPad and no personal internet access, so I will speak up when I'm able. I'm not ignoring you, just access challenged (among other things depending upon who you talk to!)

Cheers,
Isis

message 2838: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Hello! I'm Victoria. I almost always am reading a Young Adult book. I also don't go anywhere (except a book store) without a book! I tend to read more paranormal books than other genres, but I love any good book, including dystopians and contemporary romances. My favorite book is way too hard to choose, but I'll always hold a special place for the Harry Potter series as it's my childhood, and I love Vampire Academy, The Raven Cycle, The Mortal Instruments, and the Divergent series. There are a ton of others, but I don't want to create a massive list! I'm currently reading The Dream Thieves, and picking a favorite author is just as hard as picking a favorite book! Pretty much the authors of the books I listed, as well as John Green and a few others. :)

Morgan M Hi I'm Morgan. After reading the Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin, I realized that much like her, I had swept my love of YA novels, which she calls 'Kid Lit' under the rug, so I started to get back into the habit! Currently absolutely and completely in love with the Divergent Trilogy and have been a JK Rowling fan for about as long as I can remember :)

Jessica Gardner | 1 comments Hey everyone! I'm an English teacher in Ohio. I love YA! What is everyone reading? I need ideas for my classroom. I just bought: The Host by Stephanie Meyer, Atonement, and A Child Called It. What seems to be really popular with teens this year? I'm up to date on Divergent, etc. I want to know about books that aren't "big" yet.
