Actually it is the first letter in arabic alphabet, an old name in islamic culture. Means in arabic "first" because of being the first letter, and "slim, tall, slender", because it is written like "I". But in Turkey it is just a name :)

Hi everyone! I'm Amber and YA books are some of my favorites to read, though my all time favorite novel is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The book was so lush and beautifully written. I also really loved The Catcher in the Rye. I read it in high school and saw so much of myself in Holden.

Current YA books I love? Bad Taste in Boys, French Kiss, the first two books in the Maggie Quinn series by Rosemary Clement-Moore, and the Harry Potter series (I don't think I've ever cried as much while reading a book as I did when reading the last one).

I'm an author of YA humorous mysteries - the first book in my Meg Little series, Preppy Little Liars, is coming out as a trade paperback Friday with the e-book debuting at the end of the month. Hi, my name's Intisar. I read and write YA fantasy. On rare occasions, I'll read something else, but it is 99% guaranteed to be YA. I don't really have a favorite book--there's too many to choose from :) But I love Robin McKinley, Tamora Pierce, and Hilari Bell. (I also love Jane Austen, which would be in the 1% of books that aren't technically YA, but that I discovered in 7th grade and haven't let go of since.)
