Ashley Chappell (ashleychappellbooks) Hi everyone! My name is Ashley Chappell. I'm a hopeless bookworm living in Huntsville, AL. My favorite author is without a doubt Sir Terry Pratchett. In order to tell you my favorite book, I’ll have to cheat and say one of Terry Pratchett’s Tiffany Aching novels: Wee Free Men, A Hat Full of Sky, Wintersmith, and I Shall Wear Midnight. But if I were forced to choose, I would have to do it blindfolded and spun around until I was too dizzy to do anything but fall down and point randomly. Any one of those four novels can inspire me, engage me, and thrill me no matter how many times I’ve read them. That doesn’t keep me from looking forward to finding new books and new authors through this group, though  Nice to meet everyone!

Sophie (warpedline) Hi Guys, my names Sophie!I am 13 and I live in Launcestion, Tassie in Australia. I cannot stop reading, and I have read far too many amazing books to say what my favourite authors and books are. I got a Kindle for my birthday one year, and although I still read enormous amounts before that, since then my reading list tripled, thanks to Amazon. I love paranormal and fantasy, especially Dystopian. I absolutely Cassandra Clare (The Mortal Instruments) Veronica Roth (Divergent) and Kathy Reichs(Bones), and they are only some of my favourites. I absolutely adore reading, and sometimes use it as an inspiration for my artworks/drawings. Once I get hold of a good book, there is nothing in the world (except art) that can make me put it down! I look forward to chatting with all you peeps about the most awesome books!

message 1437: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Hello everyone! I am also a YA addict :) I am 19 and studying Psychology and Studio art at school. I run this blog http://aworld-of-my-own.blogspot.com (it would mean so much if you checked it out) that mainly reviews YA books. I am a start-up blogger so there is not much content yet, but I have big plans for this blog. Can;t wait to meet everyone!

message 1438: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Kobus (rainbowsunset) I'm Michelle and my favorite genres are fantasy (YA & Adult alike) and the classics. Lord of the Rings changed my life, and the way I appreciate books. I've always been a bookworm, but I've really started to pick up the pace in 2010 because I couldn't do much else because I was ill and in pain. I'm glad I found Goodreads, if for no other reason than it helps me catalog my TBR pile! Sometimes I would consider closing my account, but with over 150 untouched to read, there's no way I'm typing up a whole list to keep track when I added all those books as I bought them; so I'm pretty much here for good :-{P

I read mostly YA, though I'm sure I'm much detail than the average reader in this genre :) I'm currently reading the beautiful creatures series, and then I will read Reached (the final in the matched series). The infernal devices was i thought fantastic, which surprised me because I didn't love the mortal instruments all that much. I'm always looking for recommendations so throw any you have my way :)

I'm also an avid reader and a long-time writer myself! The latest book I read was "Stardust" by Neil Gaiman. Loved it. Victoria Forester was my favorite character.

I also recently began writing a ghost story which I hope to make about 10 pages long. I'm in that exciting "just starting" stage. ^_^

Hope to get to know y'all, and thanks for welcoming me into the group!

L.W. Patricks | 26 comments Hello everyone,

I introduced myself a while ago but I was tired and realized I had the communication skills of a chimpanzee. I thought I'd try again, this time with feeling =P

My name is L.W. Patricks and I’m the spawn of a typewriting chimp and a literary ninja, feeding on the souls of Unicorns to fuel my ideas. Okay, some of that maybe a lie, but really. I’m a fun and honest individual =). My current favorite books are the Book Thief by Markus Zusak, the Game of Thrones series, Life of Pi, and anything that’s different and outstanding.

I’m also an author; publishing in the genre I love of Young Adult. I’m ecstatic to be a part of this group and looking forward to adding a ton of books to my reading shelf. Feel free to add me as a friend and we can chat about anything from books to pandas to robot ninjas.
Seriously, no topic is taboo to me!
