Hey! My name's Amber and I am a massive book worm. I am dangerously addicted to YA (and books in general). Currently reading about 5 different books, including City of Bones by Cassandra Clare (again!) and Darkness be my Friend by John Marsden (Its an amazing series called Tomorrow, this is the 4th book). My favourite genres are dystopian and fantasy but I'll read pretty much anything if it's good enough. I’m Alison & I’m 28 in grad school. I accidentally stumbled on YA horror during testing week because I needed something short and then read another… another… I loved it! I love my adult horror but I was hooked on YA horror because there was something unique about seeing the world of a horror through eyes of a teen written for a teen. In adult horror, they’re usually the victims or dumb. In YA, they’re the heroes and interpret things in a unique, genuine way I think sometimes we lose as adults.
I also love the creativity of YA books! It’s scary without resorting to cheap garbage like sexual violence. There’s an actual plot that’s usually original, well thought out, and more sophisticated than I ever thought to give credit for!
I was such a horror snob 😅

My most recent 5 star was The Missing Piece of Charlie O Reilly by Rebecca Ansari and wow. What a break. That author is incredible! I read 2 adult horrors after and honestly? What bores 😂 anyway, I’m indulging and loving this new chapter in my reading journey!

I read the entire series twice and the first book fifteen times.

It was great prep for my own series Zone Girls, but my style and themes morphed quite a bit from JK Rowling's style.

I still appreciate her complex plot weaves and multiplex story world construction.

I passed after the seven book series.

Don't care much for her other stuff.
