The first series that got me hooked was Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments series. I remember going through the first book in two days and then the second book within a week due to school. I was on the third book, but just fell out of reading when school got a little busier. Now that i had a bit more time on my hands during the summer i got back into reading and now i seriously cannot live without it. It gave me an easier way to really escape into a world of fantasy, thriller, with a little bit of comedy. With that being said, my favorite genre of books has to be fantasy and or new/young adult. I'm Ashley. I'm 24 and from the USA.
I used to read a lot a few years ago but that hobby took the backseat when I had to deal with college (and life haha).
Now, I've graduated and am in Japan working as an assistant English teacher. I have a lot of desk warming time where I have nothing to do, so I thought it would be a good time to pick up reading again! Not only have I gotten back into it, I have gone DEEP into it. (I have already crushed my 17 book goal for 2022 haha).
I tend to sway towards dystopian/sci-fi/horror, but I am open to trying anything! I don't really have a favorite author but James Patterson holds a special place in my heart haha.
I came back to my goodreads account I made YEARS ago but didn't use, and thought it would be fun to surround myself with other readers. I'm excited to talk about books, make friends, find new series, and maybe take on a challenge or two while I'm here. <3
