hi_its_ruby :) | 5 comments Hey! My name's Ruby. I absolutely love reading, so I can't really decide what my favourite book is. Some of my favourite authors include Marissa Meyer, Suzanne Collins, Cassandra Clare, and Veronica Roth. My favourite genres are YA, fantasy, sci-fi, dystopian, and romance. I basically only read fiction. I'm really excited to join this group and meet tons of people who love books just as much as I do!

Aster 🌠 | 3 comments Hello! My name is Raghad and I love reading YA books. I used to be really into reading a few years ago then I dropped it so I’m slowly trying to get back into reading again now. I joined goodreads since you can set a goal for the year and I feel like that will really help get me back into reading! :)

Nice to meet you all! 💕

eliza | 53 comments hello! my name's eliza, my friends call me liza (complex nickname, i know) my favorite genres are romance, fantasy and dystopian, and I have an obsession with collecting mass market paperback romance novels that smell like an old bookstore ^-^ I don't have many GoodReads friends so feel free to send me a request if you like similar books/genres, i'd love to see everyone's progress! I'm really new to groups on GoodReads so this is my first one ever and I'm not really sure what I'm doing; its really nice to meet everyone!

Hello Eliza! Welcome to the group! Let me know if you have any questions about how GR works or anything- when I joined, it was all super confusing, too.

message 8809: by Al (new)

Al (wasted_youth0304) hello, I'm Al :) During the pandemic, books have once again taken the role of friend, teacher and warm fire in my soul as they did when I was a child scared to fall asleep at night lest the monsters get me. And it's kind of rad that readers like us get to live so many lives other than our own. Anyway, getting this philosophical is probably just me borrowing the personality of the protagonist of the book I've just read, which is Malibu Rising (sorry). My favourite standalones of all time are P&P, The Night Circus and Fahrenheit 451. Let us be book buddies and chat about book characters as if they were our friends!

message 8810: by Madeline (new)

Madeline | 136 comments Hi Al! The one plus side of the pandemic is that we all got more tiem to do the stuff we love:) Welcome to the group!

Sarah Erika wrote: "What's your name? Favorite book? Author?"

Hi Erika,

My name is Sarah and I do not necessarily have just one favorite author I enjoy a variety of author's and I have been increase the number of books I read which has helped me add even more authors to my bookshelf. However when I am at a store such as a thrift store or reuse store I general grab Jodi Picoult and Stacy Claflin. The first book that made me fall in love with reading would be James Patterson's Maximum Ride series.

I also just started using Goodreads to track my progress so I’m looking for friends so I can get new recommendations so feel free to request me :) have a wonderful day everyone <3

message 8831: by Alba (new)

Alba Guillén Hi everyone! I'm Alba, 30 and I'm from Spain (so, sorry of there's any slip on my writing!). I had always had a soft spot for YA fantasy books, but life got on the way and until last year I had put reading a bit aside (another one to add to the pandemic reading syndrome group, I think), and I just like that, I fell in love again with books.

I joined the group because I really would love (and need) some recommendations, because sometimes I feel a little bit lost with soooo many new series, and authors and genres and...you may know the feeling hahaha

Lately, some of my favourite reading had been really everything from Sarah J. Mass, Holly Black or Frost Kay.
