Kacie (fiction_realityisterrible) | 2 comments Hi there, my name is Kacie and I love anything that’s good! Most popular genre is YA fantasy though. My first love was Cassandra Clare with The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices. I also love Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas. I love Jennifer Niven, Garth Nix, Kiera Cass, Maggie Stiefvater, April Henry, and John Green. And so many others. My first reads of 2021 will be the Disney twisted tales (As Old As Time, Once Upon a Dream, and A Whole New World). I have been so excited to delve more into online book communities this month.

Ishan Deulkar | 6 comments Hi everyone! I commented this on a similar thread but I'm new to goodreads and still a bit overwhelmed by these groups haha. Despite that I am very excited to talk to people about fantasy and books in general!

My favorite series of all time is probably Riyria Revelations by Michael J Sullivan.

Admittedly I've had a mixed relationship with YA, adult fantasy being more my speed but Im always hopeful to try new YA books!

If you love fantasy I think we'll get along!

message 7305: by Inventive (new)

Inventive City Hi there. Y'all can call me Invi. I'm not sure if I'm sticking around here long term. I'm looking for another outlet to find new releases in YA. I'd only be able to start hitting BOTM picks in February. Somehow I wound up with 5 books to read in January and that's enough for the time being.

Thanks for having me.

Hey Hazel!!! I started reading books in 2020 and I can recommend reading the shadowhunter chronicles (those are like 4 or more series) by Cassandra Clare. I enjoyed reading the Red queen series by Victoria Aveyard, but the places and details are not written very into details so if you love details maybe it won't be for you. Great and popular series is six of crows by Leigh Bardugo and there are 2 other series by Leigh Bardugo. First one is called shadow and bones. And the other one's called king of scars. Very popular writer is Sarah J Maas, but I didn't read her books, but I am going to this year. And The series Cruel Prince by Holly Black is also very popular. Hope I helped :Dddd

message 7314: by Simi (new)

Simi (simonelightwood) Hi I'm Simone and I love reading fantasy. My favourite author is Cassandra Clare, she's known for her shadowhunter chronicles. Other than shadowhunters I like Red queen series by Victoria Aveyard, but I like the characters more than the plot (Evangeline, Mare, Cal and Cameron are my fav characters).
Feel free to recommend your favourite books

Hailey | 1 comments Hi everyone! There’s a few too many posts for me to read through to get to know you all but here I go. My name is Hailey, I’m 27 and live in Canada 🇨🇦. After a long time away from books I’m finally back and on a rampage. My favourite genre is fantasy, I prefer high fantasy to urban fantasy or magical realism. The last book I read was an accident actually, I sat down to read a sample of The Selection on kindle and ended up finishing it in one sitting 😅.

My favourite books of 2020 were definitely The Song of Achilles and The Mirror Visitor series. I know I’m a bit older but I’d love to meet more people my age to talk about books with, feel free to send me a request or message!

lucía ♡︎₊˚. (lulantics) heyy I'm lu (short for lucía) and I'm a 18-year-old spanish girl who is way too obsessed with books baha

I've been reading regularly for about 4 or 5 years now and it's definitely the best decision I've made in my life!

I like reading a little bit of everything, but my favorite genres by far are romance (of any kind, actually) and urban fantasy! so yep, if you know of any fantasy book(s) with a cool romance story, please let me know, I'd be so grateful! but all kinds of book recommendations are welcome, of course :)

my favorite book series is the shadowhunter chronicles, those books have changed my life completely and I couldn't be more grateful for them! I hope I'm able to caught up with the series this year though. I'd say cassandra clare and jennifer l. armentrout are my favorite authors, but there are so many authors I haven't had the change to read yet so who knows is this changes in the future

anyway, thanks for having me, I hope y'all have amazing reads this year! <3

If you like a good YA book, then you should definitely read the Six of Crows duology, it is the best series I have ever read so far, and I am currently reading the second book, it's so good. The romance in there is great and there is a couple or more twists in there. Anyway, before I go rambling on, you should read it. :)

Madi Hey! I’m Madeline and I love reading and writing. Right now I’m really into reading all YA books and the classics. I joined this group to find good YA book recommendations, and I am excited to hear everyone’s favorites! I am obsessed with dystopian books, so the divergent series is one of my personal favorites. I’m not sure what category this falls under, but I also want to give a shout out to The Book Thief because it is in my top favorites! Thanks! Happy reading!

lucía ♡︎₊˚. (lulantics) thank you madeleine for the recommendation! everybody talks wonderfully about that duology and I'm really looking forward to reading it, but I'd like to read the grisha trilogy first, which I've never read due to all the negative opinions... but I might start reading shadow and bone soon :) thank you again <3

You're Welcome. :) I also read the Grisha Trilogy first, I loved it even though compared to Six Of Crows, it doesn't compare, but I still loved the Grisha Trilogy, good choice in reading Shadow And Bone first, I think it's better to read that first because there are mentions in Six Of Crows about the people in Shadow and Bone, and you wouldn't understand who the people mentioned were.

message 7348: by Karina (new)

Karina | 2 comments Hi, I'm Karina! And I love reading books, a lot :) . Right now I'm in my secind year of college and I liked to read different styles of books like ya, na, romance, military, romance, paranormal etc.

The best way to read books, in my opinion, is having them in paper format, I just love actual paper books. However, right now most books I read are e-books since it's hard to get the books I want in paper in English in my country and ordering them takes way too much time.
