Hello! My name is Melissa, I love classic lit and ya fiction! 😊

I have mostly read YA Fantasy since picking up reading in July, because those are what my sister had onhand and wanted to talk about. But my TBR is full of different genres. :)
I'm reading through Harry Potter for the first time (I'm 32), and I'm really loving it thus far. I've read all the ACOTAR books that are out, and CANNOT WAIT for January!
Please feel free to add me as a friend if you wanna chat about books! :)

I don't read books based off of who the author is, I read them based off of the synopsis, a pretty cover is a plus. Because of that I don't really have a favorite author.

Also, despite all the rave, I've never read a Sarah J. Maas book. I'm not really sure where to start. Any tips/suggestions?

Hey, I'm Zakiya. Like @Jess, I'd been in a reading slump for quite a while. I used to have a Goodreads account a few years back but I wasn't very active so I decided to start a fresh one. I generally read YA but occasionally venture out if I feel like it! My favourite books seem to constantly be changing but a series that always sticks is The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. I also love the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard. My TBR is constantly being updated because I keep watching Oliviareadsalatte and a dashofash on YouTube :) I'd love to be given some recommendations and chat about books — I work from home (even before the pandemic) so I don't really get a chance to meet people :)

Hi Klaus--if you're into history, you might want to check out The Quest to Unite Us: Book I of the Marcus Santana Time Travel Chronicles
which is about a young Philadelphian who travels back in time to spend the summer of 1787 with Benjamin Franklin at the Constitutional Convention.

Thanks for the suggestion, Morgan. It just so happens that Hamilton makes appearances in both novels: The Quest to Unite Us: Book I of the Marcus Santana Time Travel Chronicles, which is about Benjamin Franklin and the Constitutional Convention of 1787 and also Book II, which is in progress. Thanks for responding and have a good day.

Welcome Nastya!!

I fell into the pages of Alice in Wonderland when I was seven, and started writing my own fantasy adventures. I love characters that feel like friends, settings I swear I've walked through, and worlds that I wish were my own.
My favorite authors who inspire my books are Rowling, Tolkien, Carrol, King, Collins, Schusterman, and Card. My favorite character is Katniss... she is passionate, brave, torn, insecure, and driven by her heart. I love everything about her.
If you want to talk books or get to know my work, friend me!

I need to find some more motivation to keep me on track, that's why I think being part of this group will help me.
Feel free to add me as a friend if you would like to discuss books and make new friends! =)

Aliya I love martial arts, too! I've been training Arakan for 5.5 years now :D
Welcome to the group everyone! :)

I'm Irene from Canada, Alberta. I'm a nurse busy enough but still have time to read. 75% of my collection are YA/Adult fantasy/scifi, 20 % crime/suspense/thriller, 5 % general fiction. I must have read 500 books or more, way back but because there was no Goodreads at that time, no tracking, so that brings me to my goal to read 1000-1500 books when I reach 55. Thank you.
