rimah Hello all. My name is Karimah, but you can me Kari or Dani. Here are some quick facts about me. 1. I'm a book lover obviously. I'm into whatever interests me. Thrillers, suspense, mystery, romance, fiction, YA, 2. Sometimes I read multiple books at a time, depending on if I'm interested in the book. If it's really good to me, I'll read that alone. 3. I love music. I'm constantly listening to music, 4. I love to cook. And that's all. Thanks for taking the time to read this if you did. much appreciated.

Izzy Sargent (izzysargent) | 9 comments Hello All! I'm Izzy and I'm new to the group and only started using GR in July. I'm excited to be here! I don't have many irl friends to chat to about books, and it's a tragedy.

I have mostly read YA Fantasy since picking up reading in July, because those are what my sister had onhand and wanted to talk about. But my TBR is full of different genres. :)

I'm reading through Harry Potter for the first time (I'm 32), and I'm really loving it thus far. I've read all the ACOTAR books that are out, and CANNOT WAIT for January!

Please feel free to add me as a friend if you wanna chat about books! :)

message 6860: by Carrie (new)

Carrie Simpson I'm Carrie, I'm 31 years old, and I have an 8 year old. I've been an avid reader since I was 10, YA being my favorite genre. I've branched out over the years and have found a love in historical fiction, real life fiction, and simple finding love type romance. :)

K.T. Anglehart (ktanglehart) | 5 comments Hey, everyone! So nice to meet like-minded readers. My name is Katrina, and I love YA fantasy, urban fantasy, and sci-fi--with a smidge of romance! Like so many others, Rowling is who really got me into reading, but I also worship Cornelia Funke, Libba Bray, Colleen Houck, Signe Pike, Deborah Harkness, Leigh Bardugo, and Jenna Moreci, among so many other talents. Fun fact: I'll be releasing my debut novel, a YA urban fantasy, this October!

message 6864: by Joseph (new)

Joseph (josephjmiccolis) Happy Tuesday from the Greater Tampa region! I usually go by Joseph, Joey, J, or J.Micc...I've spent a while establishing my platform at Twitter and after growing to 21.1K connections I decided it was time to strengthen my presence here at Goodreads. I'm sort of a slow reader unless I'm obsessed with a TBR story and cannot stop thinking about it. I've authored 3 stories and I'm writing two. After purging my Friends and Followers list on this platform I'm excited to make fresh connections and discover other readers and reviewers. Last, but not least, I'm eager to post interactive polls and blog posts and establish myself. I look forward to these opportunities and connecting with fellow literary folks passionate about writing and reading. This is definitely more character space than Twitter, ha!

message 6865: by Samantha (new)

Samantha (samanthahamburger) Hey, my name is Samantha. I tend to read mostly YA Fantasy books but occasionally venture to NA. If it has fae, magic, dragons, mystery, suspense, romance, vampires, etc I'll read it.
I don't read books based off of who the author is, I read them based off of the synopsis, a pretty cover is a plus. Because of that I don't really have a favorite author.

message 6866: by Jess (new)

Jess (jsschn) | 3 comments Hi, I'm Jess. I'd been in a reading slump for a while (like literally two years yikes) until very recently and decided that it's about time I made a goodreads account. I read mostly YA and tend to favor characters over plot. My favorite books are the Six of Crows duology, the Lunar Chronicles, and the Legend series. I would love to chat about books so please do add me !

Also, despite all the rave, I've never read a Sarah J. Maas book. I'm not really sure where to start. Any tips/suggestions?

Finley Knight (finleyknightbooks) | 1 comments Hi everybody! My name's Finley and I love reading and writing YA Fantasy and PNR. I'm currently working on my debut book titled "Pursuit (Moonshadow Academy #1)." Nice to meet you all :)

message 6871: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey, I'm Zakiya. Like @Jess, I'd been in a reading slump for quite a while. I used to have a Goodreads account a few years back but I wasn't very active so I decided to start a fresh one. I generally read YA but occasionally venture out if I feel like it! My favourite books seem to constantly be changing but a series that always sticks is The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. I also love the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard. My TBR is constantly being updated because I keep watching Oliviareadsalatte and a dashofash on YouTube :) I'd love to be given some recommendations and chat about books — I work from home (even before the pandemic) so I don't really get a chance to meet people :)

message 6872: by ElisabethSimone (new)

ElisabethSimone Hi! My name is Simone. I live in Sweden so my English might be a bit off. I love Cassandra Clare books (especially the Infernal Devices). I’m also really into the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. No one around me really reads so I barely get to talk about the books I love. That’s why I joined Goodreads!

Hi Klaus--if you're into history, you might want to check out The Quest to Unite Us: Book I of the Marcus Santana Time Travel Chronicles

which is about a young Philadelphian who travels back in time to spend the summer of 1787 with Benjamin Franklin at the Constitutional Convention.

Thanks for the suggestion, Morgan. It just so happens that Hamilton makes appearances in both novels: The Quest to Unite Us: Book I of the Marcus Santana Time Travel Chronicles, which is about Benjamin Franklin and the Constitutional Convention of 1787 and also Book II, which is in progress. Thanks for responding and have a good day.

Jaimie Engle (jaimieenglewrites) Story is my life.

I fell into the pages of Alice in Wonderland when I was seven, and started writing my own fantasy adventures. I love characters that feel like friends, settings I swear I've walked through, and worlds that I wish were my own.

My favorite authors who inspire my books are Rowling, Tolkien, Carrol, King, Collins, Schusterman, and Card. My favorite character is Katniss... she is passionate, brave, torn, insecure, and driven by her heart. I love everything about her.

If you want to talk books or get to know my work, friend me!

Irene Mckay (books_n_notes) Hi Everyone,

I'm Irene from Canada, Alberta. I'm a nurse busy enough but still have time to read. 75% of my collection are YA/Adult fantasy/scifi, 20 % crime/suspense/thriller, 5 % general fiction. I must have read 500 books or more, way back but because there was no Goodreads at that time, no tracking, so that brings me to my goal to read 1000-1500 books when I reach 55. Thank you.
