Introduce Yourselves HERE!

My name is Kim Vermaak.
My favorite book…. Well, that is a very hard question. My favorite books have changed over the years according to my life stage. And in a year’s time, my answer will change.
For a while, Wilbur Smith was my favorite. River God was rich in world and character building.
As a teen, I enjoyed Danielle Steel and her A Perfect Stranger made me cry in a way I still remember. Sometimes when I need an injection of TLC I still revert to her.
Francine Rivers’ The Mark of the Lion Series cultivated me.
A hybrid of business and storytelling was the One Minute Millionaire, and I was hooked on how stories and convey wisdom.
As a student, my favorite was Terry Prachett and his Moving Pictures captivated my imagination.
Clive Cussler is my favorite adventure series author. Sadly, two of these great literary heroes, Terry Pratchett and Clive Cussler, have now passed on.
When I am not reading and re-reading my second book edits, I am reading two other books.
One is by Adrienne Woods, Firebolt, a wonderful fresh book with teens and dragons based in current times.
And I am also reading The Healer by Rob Radcliffe, a UK based author who studied in SA for a while.
I would love to devour both these books in a single weekend, but my editor is pushing. LOL.
In between I have to read oodles of children’s books for my kids. I have a 18, 7, and 5-year-old.
Looking forwards to interacting with this group.

I’m currently in my 4th year of college and student teaching this semester! I’ll be an English high school teacher in Arizona next school year (2020-2021), woohoo! 🥳 I’m excited to share my passion for reading with my future students, this book club, on Goodreads, and on my bookstagram! (Book blog on Instagram).
If you care to check out my bookstagram, here is my username @bookscoffeeandamor — It’s up and coming 🤩

I enjoy reading young adult, romance and classics although I do try to broaden my range of genres so I am open to recommendations on what books to read. Some of the books I have enjoyed reading include books by John Green, the hunger games series and the divergent series.

Hi, Rohini here. I love reading YA fiction, mostly YA Fantasy and YA Contemporary, along with a little bit of murder mysteries and light romances. My favourite books include: 1984 by George Orwell, Harry Potter and Hunger Games (obviously). Book Thief by Marcus Zusak, Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge. My favourite authors are JK Rowling, Neil Gaiman and Margaret Atwood.
Although I tend to get busy with work, I try to make time and read books :)

I'm scarlett, and I don't have a favourite book but I love the Cruel Prince, Six of Crows and Caraval series (amongst others). I'm kind of stuck deciding what to read right now- any suggestions?

My name is Jazmine, or you can call me Jaz, and I am 19 years old. This is my first ever book club so I am super stoked to have a community to just talk about books, books, and more books. I have been dying to have a space where I can gush and rave about the same books with other people.
A little bit about my personal life, aside from being a book lover, I love animals. I work with dogs specifically in a wonderful small business in my town. I do everything from doggie daycare to bathing dogs and helping customers find the next best thing for their furry friends. Another love of mine is hiking. Being outside and challenging yourself to get up that mountain just seems to really connect me with myself and the world around me.
I hope to get to know all of your lovely faces on here and make some new friends and read some new favorites!

I'm currently reading Split Second a young adult novel by Kasie West. It's the follow up to Pivot Point. I'm 27. I live in Iowa. I love reading. I have read 605 books in my entire life and 55 books this year with my goal being 75. I love young adult novels but I also love contemporary fiction, science fiction, romance, crime/mystery/thriller. I do not like horror. I have about 70 books in my house that I'm going to read over the next month or so but I am always up for suggestions. But please don't take it personally if I deny your suggestion respectively. I'd like to know if anyone has read Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. I am interested in it but want to know what someone who has already read it thinks of it. My favorite young adult book so far is This Light Between Us by Andrew Fukuda. I also like historical fiction. Some of my favorite authors are Stephanie Meyers, Kasie West, and Ellen Hopkins.

Have you read any of Kasie West's books? I strongly recommend her.

All time favourites for YA fantasy have got to be anything Leigh Bardugo, anything Sarah J Maas (obviously), alongside the Darker Shade of Magic series and the Crown's Game.
Fav YA fiction has got to be the All For the Game series.
Finally, I'm a self confessed sucker for any romance. My fav at the moment is Red, White and Royal Blue, but The Sun is Also a Star & It Ends With Us are both strong seconds for me. I will unabashedly become invested in a character's relationship, and if it goes wrong I find it genuinely distressing. But in all fairness, the ones that go well are so satisfying.
I'm really in need of book recommendations, cause I don't have a lot of friends that read, and I've run through all of the big series. Any recommendations would be fab :)

I'm authoring my 4th novel; am the $10 Proofreader Guy; host cash giveaway contests on Twitter; post literary/Insta content and dad jokes on Twitter; and I value interactions as I grow to 21K on Twitter!
I'm eager to grow my Goodreads presence as well. I welcome you to invite me to connect here and on Twitter @josephjmiccolis

Hi my name is Brett. I have always enjoyed anything regarding a series because of character growth, it's really cool to see your favorite characters change throughout the story and see them adapt to different situations and how they overcome. That being said, favorite book series would have to be Harry Potter, it's an all time classic for me. It definitely gave me that passion for reading. Favorite Author would be J.K. Rowling, but another author that will always hold a special place in my heart is S.E. Hinton. As she was the author of the first book I ever read, "Rumble Fish". Her most known book being "The Outsiders".
I can't wait to get to know everyone more!

I messaged you about recommendations.

My name is Julia. I'm currently doing my MBBS. I have been huge fan of YA Fantasy since I started reading. I usually read anything that can keep me occupying.
Happy to be here.

I am Nazifa. I am new in this group. I love mainly fantasy with some great friends banter and a side love story. Right now I am reading well of ascension by Brandon Sanderson. And obviously I love reading.

I'm an avid reader and writer of sci-fi and fantasy.
My favourite YA fantasy book is Deerskin by Robin McKinley
General YA author I love best in Marie-Aude Murail.
I adore YA graphic novels too.
Thank you for welcoming me into your group!

I love the Shadowhunter series, Tamora Pierces' books, Meg Cabot's princess diaries, mediator series and so many more!
That's more to do with YA fiction but I love reading more classical books like Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice, C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia and Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.
There are so many favourites it is difficult to pick a few but these are the ones that popped up in my mind right now! :)

The first and second book is written by Jandy Nelson, the third book is written by Adam Silvera and TMI series is written by Cassandra Clare. These authors are my favorite authors.
I'm addicted to YA, and I'm currently reading "City of Glass". I've bought The Infernal Devices, and now I'm just waiting for it, to be delivered. I'll soon begin to read "The Hate U Give".
Feel free to add me, I need some friends on here!
Stay safe! :D

My favorite books(series) are Harry Potter, Splintered, Rebel Mechanics, Royal Spyness, The Hobbit, and The Chronicles of Narnia. There are many more, but I'll only name these so as to take up less space.
I don't really have favorite authors, just their books, but if I had to say some, then they would be Rhys Bowen, J.R.R Tolkien, and C.S Lewis, to name a few.
I'm currently reading The Austen Escape, Educated, Maisie Dobbs, and (rereading)The Chronicles of Narnia.
Feel free to add me!

Hello, my name is Anna. I just recently wrote two books ideal for young adults who are finding his or her way in the maze called love and relationship. It would be nice to have a review from your perspective.

I loved Illuminae. I loved the whole trilogy. A third of the books I read are young adult too. I like some science fiction but lately the books I've been reading are historical fiction. What about you? What are your favorite genres?

Hi. I'm Jessalyn. I read City of Bones and it was good. I have the rest of the series to read. What genres do you like?

You should look up Kasie West Pivot Point series. It's science fiction/dystopian. Also the Illuminae Chronicles is science-fiction. That is a good young adult series. James Patterson is really good for crime novels. Do you like romance?
