Alena (stellaclara) | 1 comments Hi everyone! My name is Alena and I love reading all kinds of novels (sf, fantasy, crime and the occasional romance). My favourite YA authors are Cassandra Clare (shadowhunter series), Sarah J Maas (ACOTAR), Leigh Bardugo (Grishaverse) and Libba Bray (Diviners). I joined this group to get recommendations of books that I can read while waiting for the next installments in my favourite series...

message 6102: by Anne (new)

Anne Jamison | 1 comments Hello! I'm Anne. I read and write YA and lots of other stuff. I had a kind of hiatus when I got too busy with work and family, so I am interested to see what people are reading. Since reading is basically my life, I can't even say what my favorite authors/books are, but my favorite from the last few years is probably The Hate U Give. I like edgy and angsty and funny all at once (so that's also what I try to write).

message 6103: by Caity✨ (new)

Caity✨ (caity428) Hello. I'm Caity.
I love to read! I love mystery, fantasy, and horror books. My favorite book I've read this year is House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig. My all time favorite series is Harry Potter. I don't have a favorite author. There's so many I love!

I'll read pretty much anything:

message 6105: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Kennedy | 2 comments Hey everyone!
I'm Jessica, 21, from Canada. I have been lurking in this group for awhile lol so it would be nice to finally start participating - here I am!
I read a bit of everything: YA, fantasy, classics, nonfiction, sci-fi, and romance (my slightly guilty pleasure, I love fluffy stories and book hotties). I'm also trying to branch out and read a few poems.
I think the last YA reads that stood out for me were ACOTAR and VA so let's go with those as my current YA faves. I'm a student so most of my reading is done while commuting or on break, and is totally inconsistent. Other than reading, I play violin and bake in my spare (...ha....haha...) time.
Nice to meet you. Let's yell about books together!

message 6106: by Jenn (last edited Oct 20, 2019 03:05PM) (new)

I would love if you could recommend me new books, or discuss with me about common favs!
It's very nice to meet everyone and hello to all the lovely people who introduced themselves above me:)

Ella Meylin (ellameylin) Hi There, you sound like my kind of person. what age do you recommend the hunger games? and welcome!

message 6109: by Mike (new)

Mike McCoy (mikeblaster) Hey, I'm Mike. I read lots of science fiction and spy novels. I read everything Tolkien and every Vince Flynn. I just finished Wool (interesting) - I enjoyed Ready Player One and The Martian, Enders Game and much more.

I have just finished writing my first novel; ASTEROIDS-Bridge to Nowhere. It was truly an education. I should have payed attention in English Class! It took me five years to write and edit. A young 13 yr old girl read an early draft when the book was half written and asked for more pages. Every time I visited, I brought her more pages and she disappeared into her room. She unknowingly became my muse. I kept feeding her pages until the book was finished. I hope many more boys and girls will read ASTEROIDS.

My dream is to keep writing books. I have many stories in my brain. Hopefully I can get most of them out of my head and down on paper.

So, here I am :)

I am Mark, from Melbourne (though originally from Tasmania.) I'm looking forward to seeing what this group gets into an I'd welcome any friend requests so that I can keep up with what's on your shelves.

message 6117: by Lela (new)

Lela Hello, I'm Luna and I'm in middle school. I do a book club called Battle of the Books (BOB) so about October to January I am reading about 11 books multiple times so that I can learn all about them. You can find more info about BOB online. Otherwise I love YA but not the realistic fiction all the time. The only realistic stuff I like is Love Hate and Other Filters and The Hate U Give (who doesn't love that). I like high fantasy, distopia and sci-fi.

Whee, Hello and Goodbye,
Luna

Sorry about my English, its not my first language.

Hi! My name is Dharshini! I really love YA books and I wanna write one too! My favorite book is "On the come up" by ANGIE THOMAS! I have been writing romance fiction and I have published it! Since I was too petrified over publishing a novel in my own name I decided to come up with a pen name and I published it too... But since I didn't want my love story to be written in the name of somebody else I republished it in my own name! BETH'S MATH! So it turns up that I haven't owned a self published book! lol! My favorite authors are Stephanie Meyer, Agatha Christie, Joanne Rowling-J,K,Rowling, Jenny Han, Caroleene Keene and others...Have a nice day y'all!!

apolo (milicavanilica) Hi, my name is Masha, but you can call me Vanilla. I'm 13 and a book lover of course. I am a fast reader and that is really annoying because I finish my books quickly and then have nothing to read for a while.
Anyways, I enjoy YA, Contemporary, Fantasy, Romance....
My favorite author is Amy Wilson (very underrated) and some of my favorite books are Snowglobe, A girl called Owl, A far away magic ( these are all from Amy Wilson), The fault in our stars, Fish in a tree, Stargirl etc.

I hope I'll find some new book reccomendations here, as well as make friends.
:) - Masha

Noelle Parra (noellep) | 1 comments Hi, I'm Noelle. I've had Goodreads for a few years but have only started to use it regularly the past few months. I enjoy writing and have a blog, and instagram accounts that focus on writing and reading books. For the most part, YA is just my go-to but I'm constantly exploring the different genres I enjoy. I think I really enjoy mystery/thrillers but am definitely a sucker for romance. I'm always open to making friends so feel free to add me if you like! :)

message 6150: by manonsense (new)

manonsense & books Hi I'm Manon :) Like Noelle it's been a couple of years since I first signed up on Goodreads and I'm just now starting to become more active on it (I even wrote a rEVIEW). The goal is to have a blog someday where I can write about my thoughts on books, but right now I'm taking it easy.
I usually read YA (although there might sometimes be an exception) -> fantasy and contemporary romance are often my go tos
My fav book is Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix (although the whole series has a very special place in my heart), Leigh Bardugo's Six of crows is also up there, Kirsten Whites conqueror saga (i could sing about how much I looooove these books), some Jane Austen (Pride and prejudice is my jam) and so many more
AH and my fav romantic love trop is probs the hate to love trop (or the we're in a competition but we can't stop flirting)

Oh and I'm a proud Gryffondor (with a bit of a slytherin in me)

If you have any book suggestion please don't hesitate!!!
