Slimy Soap (slimysoap) | 1 comments Hi!
I'm a new member on goodreads, and I'm not entirely sure how it works, but I've been an avid reader all my life.
I've read fiction, fantasy, chicklit, YA and classics.
I'm currently reading Before I fall by Lauren Oliver.
My favourite books are the Harry Potter series (OFCOURSE), The Year I Met You, If You Could See Me Now, and A Thousand Splendid Suns.

message 5302: by martisunshine (new)

martisunshine Hi! I'm Martina and I'm still in school. My hobbies are mostly Netflix, a bit of Yoga, writing and of course reading.
I have mostly only read Middle Grade and Young Adult, and I prefer YA by far.
I just got into reading about 2 years ago, thanks to the Twilight Saga (say what you want, but I'll FOREVER be a TwiHeart!). I'm 13, but people say I'm very mature for my age (DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE ME)
My favorite books are all if the Shadowhunter Chronicles by Cassandra Clare. And that makes Cassie my favorite author.

Madelyn Minnaar (madelynminnaar) | 2 comments Hi my name is Madelyn Minnaar. I live in South Africa. My favorite book of all time Alice in wonderland. I am starting to enjoy YA books more and more. I read Daughter of a Pirate King recently and loved it! How to hang a witch was also amazing, My favorite authors are: J K Rowling, Madeline Roux, Kiera Cass,Kendare Blake to name only a few,

I look forward to read with all of you!

message 5304: by sky ⚡️ (new)

sky ⚡️ (leviosky) hello, im sky, and i obviously enjoy reading a little too much, but i can't seem to stop myself haha.

my favorite anything when it comes to books definitely changes all the time, but currently, my favorite book is probably To Kill A Mockingbird (can't go wrong with a classic right?). and my favorite author right now is probably Katherine McGee and more specifically her writing in The Thousandth Floor. in my humble opinion, i think she does a really good job at explaining things without flat out telling you what exactly is happening.

and to end on a sort of high note, i used to be strictly a fan of contemporary (curse you John Green), but now i am reading more and more sci-fi and fantasy ya novels and it's the best decision i have ever made.

message 5305: by Jayde (new)

message 5308: by Grey (new)

Grey Channing Hi! My name is Grey. I'm an indie author. My favorite author - or most frequently read - is Lauren Oliver. I loved "Before I Fall." It's actually the book that got me into her work. I tried to read "Panic" but never got very far. I would put it down for a bit and it never really made me want to pick it back up.

Currently I want to read "The Hate U Give" by Angie Thomas and "Everything, Everything" by Nicola Yoon. If you've read these let me know if you approve!

I'm new-ish to Goodreads but DEFINITELY new to groups and discussions! I'm happy I found this group!

- The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare.
- The Copper Promise by Jen Williams.

message 5321: by Ashley (last edited Jun 29, 2017 10:11PM) (new)

Ashley Hello! ;)
I am Ashley and I get told I read to much but I don't think I do. I love paranormal romances and almost all fantasy books. I will read anything with Dragons, magic or any type of strange mythical kind of story. I love YA books and buy new ones all the time and I would love to have people I can discuss books with. I don't really have any bookworm friends which sucks. I don't have a favourite author or book because there are to many to choose from.

message 5322: by Liz (new)

Liz (thelizzard) | 1 comments Hi Everyone!
I am Liz, I enjoy reading and will read pretty much anything. If I have to pick a favourite genre, I would say it is a mix of fantasy and science fiction. I read so much, that some people think it is all I do. I must admit to not reading as many "new" books lately, since I am trying to read through all the books on my shelves that I have been stockpiling. I enjoy discussing books and characters, and love helping others find their next favourite book.

Growing up, my parents owned our local independent book store & I worked there as my summer job when I was a teen. You could say books are in my DNA. :)

YA books are my jam (and british mysteries as an aside). I can't narrow to one, but some of my all-time YA faves include: The Fault in Our Stars, All the Bright Places, Fangirl, & Before I Fall.

studycharms_ (studycharms) | 2 comments Hi, my name is Queena. I love YA books, obviously...since I'm here. I've been on the Goodreads community for a while, mainly using it to generate lists of TBR. But now, I wanted to get more involved in the GoodReads community.

My favorite book is definitely All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. Other books I adore include: Cassandra Clare's series, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Dragon Slippers, Defy the Stars, The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down: A Hmong Child, Her American Doctors, and the Collision of Two Cultures, and more but I'll end here for the sake of brevity. I'm excited to participate in this YA community.

And feel free to give me any suggestions, and of course, to making some new friends to discuss book-ish things!

Feel free to add me as a friend on here :)

message 5348: by Krissu (new)

Krissu Hi readers!
I'm Kris. I try to add as many books to my tight summer work schedule. I don't really have favorites - as soon as I finish a good book, it becomes my favorite... until the next one. But I really enjoyed "the perks of being a wallflower" which I read 3 times, so I guess I can say it's one of my favorites. Anyone, who is up for making some online reader friends, feel free to add me! :)

message 5349: by Rachida (new)

Rachida | 0 comments Hi! My name is Rachida and I’m a molecular biology research analyst. I’ve always loved books but every time I picked one up, time just went crazy and flew by! That combined with me being a very slow reader equals finishing 1 book a year… So I decided that 2017 would be the year that I push everything aside and try to read 2-3 books a month. Of course I have A LOT of catching up to do. But I’ll get there :) I love YA fantasy.
My favorite YA (secretly NA) book is A Court of Mist and Fury and favorite contemporary is The Hating Game by Sally Thorne.
