I'm Mariana, I love reading and writing!
My favourite books are the Harry Potter series, any Shadowhunters novel, All The Bright Places and The Alchemist.
My top authors are Cassandra Clare, Pierce Brown and John Green.

My name is Kate and I have been a book fanatic since I was very young. I started goodreads a few years ago as a friend recommended writing reviews for books and that this website is the best place to meet new people with the same passion. My favourite genres are romance, fantasy, fiction and humour. Some of my favourite books include the After series by Anna Tod, Looking for Alaska by John Green, Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard, Deadly Unna? by Philip Gwynne and the Unearthly series by Cynthia Hand.

Feel free to talk about anything!

just joined the group and thought i'd introduce myself.
my name is Roxanne i'm 26 y/o
Whe i was little i never really liked reading until i was about 18 and now i'm addicted to reading.
my favourite author's atm are MArissa Meyer and Kiera Cass. i just love the series they wrote.
i mostly read YA/Romance/Dystopian/NA/Adult and i would love to befriwnd more people so i can finally chat about the books i love! so feel free to add me :)

I'm really surprised at myself that I hadn't found this site out before this. I am always reading some book, my favorite genres to read include Fantasy (YA), Paranormal/Supernatural, Action/Adventure, Suspense/Mystery, and Horror. My favorite authors are Rick Riordan, Veronica Roth, Sabaa Tahir, Suzanne Collins, Rachelle Mead, Cassandra Clare, Marie Lu, Dan Brown, Stephen King, and of course, the incomparable J.K. Rowling.
I write mostly YA Fantasy with magical/supernatural elements, and also Suspense/Mystery, which the above authors have all attributes to my love of these genres and where I draw inspiration from.
Pleasure to meet y'all!

I really enjoyed all the Harry Potter books, 'The Hunger Games' series and the 'Divergent' series.
I read all sorts of genres and love different styles. From Jane Austen to John Grisham, I will also read light romances, literary and historical fiction, thrillers and mysteries - in fact anything that is a good story.
I have wanted to be a writer since infancy and fell in love with Anne McCaffrey's 'Dragonflight' series as a student. It has taken me years since then, but I have finally gotten round to writing my first novel with a feisty strong heroine, whom I hope has similarities to Anne McCaffrey's Lessa.
'Chroma: Imogen's Secret' is, loosely, a science fiction mystery, but it crosses many genres and if you wanted to try it out, it is only 99p (99c) or free on Kindle Unlimited.
I look forward to being part of a group that celebrates Young Adult fiction and being part of the discussions.
Thanks for letting me join.

And I'm a newbie here in goodreads, and of course in this group too... and, hmm you all love books, so do I and so we're here, right.. hehe
I really enjoyed Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Percy Jackson, also novels by Rainbow Rowell, John Green, Marie Lu, Dan Brown, etc *well, I can't mention it one by one, too many* But I can say I love all genre..
That's all, Thanks.. Glad to be here! :)
And feel free to add & chat me haha

My name is Pearl, native NYer now living in CA. My age is up there, my mind not so much. I have 3 young girls and their children's books take up all the space on my shelves so I sleep next to my kindle. I get sucked up on foreign drama like kdrama, anime, telenovelas, telesyres so I prefer my literature to be in English.
I love all books, but YA is what keeps me up at night! So many favorites and currently enjoying Red Queen, Ember in the Ashes, Throne of Glass, Kingmaker Chronicles, Red Rising and Illuminae Files.
Thanks for the add!

I think it's really interesting that you're deciding to explore the young adult genre as an adult. Personally, I think there's a certain something that young adult books have that others don't. I wan't to say it's a kind of lightness but a lot of young adult books deal with heavy subjects so I'm not sure that's the right word. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the genre. I haven't read the book you mentioned but it sounds pretty good and I'm adding to to my list.

Hi, Am Dheepika.. I just started reading books.. Can you suggest me some nice book to start YA?

My name is Hayley, and I am a 25 year old Brit currently living in Australia as a vet nurse. I loved to read YA and NA, but I love to dip into other genres such as fantasy, thriller and non-fiction.
Can't wait to get involved with the group!

.
Along with my love for writing and reading I am also fascinated by Magic, the occult and Hermetic Alchemy. My three major literary influences are the Golden Dawn occultist Dion Fortune (especially Moon Magic and The Mystical Qabalah), the Romantic Poet and Radical William Blake (most noteably The Marriage of Heaven and Hell and Songs of Innocence and Experience) and the Scottish Father of Fairytales George Macdonald (Phantastes and Lilith), as well as classics such as Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland and the Narnia and Harry Potter books.
When I am not writing I like to watch films (DVDS), listen to my favourite music, classical, pop or rock, travel to exotic places like India when I can afford it, read my favourite books and take Shimba for walks (sometimes with my son) in the forest. My favourite foods are pizza, lasagne, vegetable pies and spicy Indian cuisine. I also have an addiction to drinking hot chocolate and eating very rich and yummy cheese cakes!
I am open to all friend requests and am currently offering a Free Ebook copy of my book Magic Mirabelle and the Riddle of Night Opium - in exchange for a short review.......
And even if you have no interest at all in my book come and say hi to me anyway.
Manfred

Hello, My name is B'neikia. I am addicted to YA. It's funny I didn't start reading YA until I was well out of my YA years. But now I can't get enough. I am currently reading If I Stay by Gayle Forman. I am looking forward to having discussions on different books.

I realized its no fun without a group so I joined this one.
Ive been reading since birth, as my mom was and still is an author who adores books. The thing is I recently (like 2 years ago) started reading english novels (its not my first language) and Im glad to say Im enjoying it alot! Its actually fun to read in multiple languages because you can see life through different points of view in different environments. I would love to get recommendations on books I should read that are considered YA classics!

:)

I'm a mother, wife, reader, author, goat herder, and ruler of the world inside my head. I read across all genres of fiction, Thriller, Fantasy, Horror (only a bit in this genre), Action, Romance, Historical, and YA (my favorite). I prefer YA that has fantastical elements to it and at least some romance. There is enough real world in the real world, I want something more when I settle in with a good YA book.
The first book of this genre I ever read was Remember Me by Christopher Pike when I was a teenager. I was hooked. Since then I've enjoyed Hunger Games, Twilight, and Harry Potter to name a few, along with a plethora of indie books. My favorite YA series, is the Relentless series by Karen Lynch.

My native language is Spanish, but I also speak English and French.
My favorite genres are Fantasy, YA, Historical Fiction, Classics, Contemporary, Science Fiction, and Psychological Thrillers.
I'm joining this group in the hopes of meeting new people with similar reading tastes and to do some buddy-reading :)

Lu.

My favorite book is The Sailweaver's Son by Jeff Minerd, I love reading YA books, along with mystery and suspense. Feel free to recommend any books as I'm always looking for new books to add to my list. Thanks!

My name is Aspiro and I'm quiet, awkward, and I enjoy reading books, listening to music, writing poetry, doodling, photography, pottery, and all of nature in its purest form (especially the ocean). My favorite reading environment is a rainy day; so I can snuggle up in my bed and drink warm tea.
I don't consider myself a professional fangirl, but I have my moments.
And I love to read; it's almost the center of my world. I favor and adore many books and authors, so I can't say who my favorite is. But I do enjoy reading from the following genres: espionage, fantasy, YA books, historical fiction, and autobiographies. I'm always on the hunt for more books... So feel free to recommend.

Congrats on your writing! Here is a book I love! The Sailweaver's Son

Hi Everyone,
I'm Avell, an author of YA books. Sort of sci-fi fantasy with a bit of humor mixed in. I have so many favourite authors it's hard to know where to begin. J.K. Rowling certainly - in both her incarnations, including Robert Galbraith.
Looking forward to getting to know you all. Will certainly be going straight over to KaylasBookChat!

Annie here, an enthusiastic reader from Croatia. Shortest description: A movie geek turned into a bookworm.
My literary ascenstion began only a few years back. I was never really interested in books. The only book I've willingly read during school years was Frank Herbert's Dune, which still remains as my all-time favourite book.
My full-blown interest in books started after I've got a tip to read John Brosnan's Sky Lords. I loved that trilogy, and after that I went into exploring... Bronte's Jane Eyre, Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games, Austin's Pride and Prejudice, etc. After Cassandra Claire, I've realized I have a specific tendencies to YA fantasy and YA/Adult Sci-Fi genres.
I do not do Ebooks or Library loans... If I like the basic plot written on the cover, or on GoodReads - I buy the book. I want to hold it in my hands, I want to smell the pages.
Books are my shoes. If you know what I mean. :)
Friend requests and book recommendations are welcome!

I've always loved reading YA books, especially fantasy-themed ones. They're so easy to ready. I feel like they're my little escape. My most recent favorite series is the Waterfire Saga - I love mermaids! But I also loved The Selection series and The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series. (:
