Anna Hockey Hi, my name is Anna. I'll read and enjoy any genre but fantasy is my favourite. It's hard to pick just one favourite book. Peter Pan, the Harry Potter series, and the Lunar Chronicles are just a few.

message 5052: by Deserry (new)

Deserry Hi everyone! My name is Deserry. I love Y/A and contemporary romance-y books, but I read a little bit of everything. I can't really pick one favorite book, but I love the Harry Potter series (it's what got me into reading as a kid), and I recently finished Sold by Patricia McCormick which I loved.

Felicia Leibenguth (FeliciaLeibenguth) | 3 comments Hi everyone!
This is the first group I have joined and being fairly new to Goodreads, I'm still learning my way around. lol
As a kid, I always HATED to read! Then Stephanie Meyer destroyed that when she wrote the 'Twilight' saga... I haven't stopped reading since and have many series under my belt... While reading, I decided I wanted to try writing as I had an idea in my head that I couldn't get rid of... Five years later I finished a YA - Supernatural, Trilogy.... lol I haven't published it yet as it needs cleaning up, but I did just publish a different novel. It's a YA - sci-fi and currently a stand alone, so this is a very exciting time for me!
I am also a pet artist, where I take a pet's photo and hand paint it onto a canvas. I have 4 fur-babies, (aka, dogs) who inspire me in everything I do!
Can you tell I like to stay busy!? LOL
I look forward to checking out the other threads on this page and meeting new people!
Thanks! :-)

Lydia (liddilou) | 2 comments Hi everyone!

I'm Lydia, from the UK!

I love reading Fantasy, Young Adult and Classic Literature. I am pretty new to Goodreads and have only just joined the group.
It's pretty hard to pick just one book, but I'd probably have to say that my favourites are the Six of Crows duology, To Kill a Mockingbird and the Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare.

I have some *pretty* big exams this year, so I can't promise to be very active or up to date, but I'll try my best!

Can't wait to meet some new people and chat about books! Send me any recommendations you have!

:)

Suzi!!! (suzievelyn) Hey, y'all. I'm Suzevelyn from Earth. My favorite authors are J.K. Rowling, Cassandra Clare, and Leigh Bardugo. My favorite genres of YA are fantasy, dystopian, and contemporary. Some of my favorite books are the Harry Potter series, the Mortal Instruments series, the Infernal Devices trilogy, the Six of Crows duology, the Hunger Games trilogy, the Divergent trilogy, All the Bright Places, Everything, Everything, and The Fault in Our Stars, but I'll read basically anything with words and a plot. . . I like writing things with words and a plot as well. I came here to talk about books and make friends (most of the ones I have live in my head or behind a book cover, so. . .).

I don't really have a favorite author, although recently I've been loving Jennifer Niven and Nicola Yoon.
My current favorite book is probably The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. I would definitely recommend it!

message 5068: by Sophia (new)

Sophia V | 1 comments Hey! My name is Sophia and I've been on goodreads for a while but havent really participated in any groups or whatsoever. So clearly I am a newbie since I have no friends up here haha.
It might sound like a cliché but my favorite book (or at least one of them because it's so damn hard to pick) will always be Looking For Alaska from John Green. I also have another book I absolutly loved and that one was Hard Hart by Ish Ait Hamou but it's written in Dutch and I don't know if there are any English versions yet.

message 5069: by Pallavi (new)

message 5073: by Maxximum (new)

Maxximum Reads (maxximumreads) | 1 comments Hello! My name is posted as Katherine butttttt I prefer Maxx. It fits better! I would not say I have a favorite book. I have preferred Genres like YA, Epic Fantasy, Historical Romance, and Mystery. I really enjoy anything by James Patterson, Christine Feehan, Marissa Meyer. Just about anything really. Although my interests are broad I am also very picky. If it does not interest me in the first few pages I put it down and never pick it back up again. My high school English teacher hated me.

message 5078: by Halle (new)

Halle | 5 comments Hey, I'm Halle. Up until a couple of years ago I mostly just read young adult books but now that I'm twenty and in college I've started to branch out a little bit and have been enjoying reading different kinds of books. I have to say that young adult books are still some of my favorites though...

I joined goodreads over the summer because I wanted to keep track of my reading and find other books, as well as keeping myself accountable because I do really love to read but it can be easy to fall behind when you're busy with school and work.

Halle and Mackenzie, I am so with you on that! I work full time, and attend school so I have like so little time for reading. It makes me pretty sad! I carry at least one book I'm reading around with me everywhere, read on breaks and read when I'm doing cardio at the gym just to get some more reading time into each day.

I haven't introduced myself here, although I've posted in other threads a couple of times. My name is Bentley, I'm in my 20s. I'm a busy guy, but my love for reading has never died! I really want to get back into reading this year in a big way. I'm graduating from college in May, so I'm expecting to have a lot more free time after that point.

I usually carry a book with me too. Sadly, it doesn't usually get opened when I'm out. Sometimes I hope for slow days at work so I can get some reading in but that rarely happens. Reading at the gym takes serious dedication though. Props to you. Some of the people at my gym are so aggressively loud, like grunting and moaning while they work out. I can barely focus on the music in my earbuds sometimes. It does kind of make me laugh though.

Oh god I know what you mean. Those dudes that set off the lunk alarm every time they do a rep make me crazy. I have two playlists though: one with soundtracks/instrumental music for when I'm reading and doing cardio and another to get me pumped for strength training - basically anything I can do to drown out all that external noise. My poor eardrums will hate me when I'm older I'm sure.

Deejay (DZ) (deejayreads) | 8 comments Hi I'm Deejay ,
I'm in love with books tbh , they never failed me, I carry at least 3 books with me wherever I go . My favourite authors are John Green and Cassandra Clare, I like reading paranormal and romance books . I'm currently reading the 6th book of the Harry Potter series . And then I'll read the mortal instruments series :) . Feel free to add me as a friend, I accept all .

message 5085: by Helen (new)

Helen Bell (helenbellauthor) | 13 comments Hi Deejay, I'm also a Cassandra Clare fan, and a writer of paranormal/romance. As Book 3 needs finishing before the end of March I'm trying to limit my reading (not always successfully as you'll see from my packing reading list). And I've just discovered Maggie Stiefvater, which isn't helping with that plan!

Welcome to the group.

Angel | 29 comments Hi, I'm a mom, reader, reviewer, author and inventor. Nice to meet everyone. I write a myriad of genres. I'm more of a multi-genre author. I also write plays. I read lots of books and tend to exceed my goal of reading books in the Goodreads Reading Challenge. I've done this in two challenges so far and I've entered the 2017 Reading Challenge this year. Don't get me started on how many books I have on my currently reading list, Goodreads bookshelf, and on my Kindle. Well, I'll whisper it to you. Shh! I have a total of nearly 10,000 books and hundreds on my bookshelf at home. I started reading when I was four and there's when the obsession with books began.

We were in Germany, now Maine, and soon to head down to Mississippi. Because of all the moving, it's hard to find a bookish community to call home so I'm hoping to find that here. :) My favorite trilogy is The Winner's Curse.
