This is the first group I have joined and being fairly new to Goodreads, I'm still learning my way around. lol
As a kid, I always HATED to read! Then Stephanie Meyer destroyed that when she wrote the 'Twilight' saga... I haven't stopped reading since and have many series under my belt... While reading, I decided I wanted to try writing as I had an idea in my head that I couldn't get rid of... Five years later I finished a YA - Supernatural, Trilogy.... lol I haven't published it yet as it needs cleaning up, but I did just publish a different novel. It's a YA - sci-fi and currently a stand alone, so this is a very exciting time for me!
I am also a pet artist, where I take a pet's photo and hand paint it onto a canvas. I have 4 fur-babies, (aka, dogs) who inspire me in everything I do!
Can you tell I like to stay busy!? LOL
I look forward to checking out the other threads on this page and meeting new people!
Thanks! :-)

I'm Lydia, from the UK!
I love reading Fantasy, Young Adult and Classic Literature. I am pretty new to Goodreads and have only just joined the group.
It's pretty hard to pick just one book, but I'd probably have to say that my favourites are the Six of Crows duology, To Kill a Mockingbird and the Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare.
I have some *pretty* big exams this year, so I can't promise to be very active or up to date, but I'll try my best!
Can't wait to meet some new people and chat about books! Send me any recommendations you have!
:)

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Read all her work. She's amazing ;) Throne of glass series and A court of thornes and roses - you won't regret it!

I don't really have a favorite author, although recently I've been loving Jennifer Niven and Nicola Yoon.
My current favorite book is probably The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. I would definitely recommend it!

Agreed. Great writer, great books.

It might sound like a cliché but my favorite book (or at least one of them because it's so damn hard to pick) will always be Looking For Alaska from John Green. I also have another book I absolutly loved and that one was Hard Hart by Ish Ait Hamou but it's written in Dutch and I don't know if there are any English versions yet.

Will do. I'm very interested now in other authors in that genre (the one I'm writing in now). I've heard great things from everyone so far about her.

Welcome to Goodreads...I am relatively new...joined late last year...I am enjoying chatting with lots of people about books...feel free to add me as a friend!

I joined goodreads over the summer because I wanted to keep track of my reading and find other books, as well as keeping myself accountable because I do really love to read but it can be easy to fall behind when you're busy with school and work.

I've got the same issue. I wish there was more time in the day.

Halle and Mackenzie, I am so with you on that! I work full time, and attend school so I have like so little time for reading. It makes me pretty sad! I carry at least one book I'm reading around with me everywhere, read on breaks and read when I'm doing cardio at the gym just to get some more reading time into each day.
I haven't introduced myself here, although I've posted in other threads a couple of times. My name is Bentley, I'm in my 20s. I'm a busy guy, but my love for reading has never died! I really want to get back into reading this year in a big way. I'm graduating from college in May, so I'm expecting to have a lot more free time after that point.

I usually carry a book with me too. Sadly, it doesn't usually get opened when I'm out. Sometimes I hope for slow days at work so I can get some reading in but that rarely happens. Reading at the gym takes serious dedication though. Props to you. Some of the people at my gym are so aggressively loud, like grunting and moaning while they work out. I can barely focus on the music in my earbuds sometimes. It does kind of make me laugh though.

Oh god I know what you mean. Those dudes that set off the lunk alarm every time they do a rep make me crazy. I have two playlists though: one with soundtracks/instrumental music for when I'm reading and doing cardio and another to get me pumped for strength training - basically anything I can do to drown out all that external noise. My poor eardrums will hate me when I'm older I'm sure.

I'm in love with books tbh , they never failed me, I carry at least 3 books with me wherever I go . My favourite authors are John Green and Cassandra Clare, I like reading paranormal and romance books . I'm currently reading the 6th book of the Harry Potter series . And then I'll read the mortal instruments series :) . Feel free to add me as a friend, I accept all .

Welcome to the group.

Hi Deejay! I'm also a huge John Green and Cassandra Clare fan. The Mortal Instruments series is by far my favorite series! Have you read it before?

I just read City of Bones the other day for the first time, and I loved it! I don't know how this series has flown under my radar for so long. I just started City of Ashes today. I feel like I'm in for a pretty wild ride!

Right there with you...favorite YA series...love all the characters!

I recently moved from reading to writing, and have my first paranormal book under my belt; Sight and Sound. My desire is to provide thinking and learning with entertainment.
Look forward to meeting everyone here.
