I'm thinking about checking this book out. A lot of the critcisim I'm reading in the reviews seems to attack the premise.
If you sufficiently suspend disbelief (about a kid being left behind, not chekced on etc etc) is the book good?
Thanks!

Yes!!! It isn't meant to be 100% literal in assuming that any of this could have happened. But wouldn't the world be a better place if all of this could happen, that the people who needed to find each other to get through tough times and to help each other when needed actually did find each other, that goodness for the sake of goodness actually might exist somewhere other than just in the pages of a novel. Good stuff and well worth reading (and if you like this, grab I'll Be There by Holly Sloan Greenberg or Greenberg Sloan, I can never remember...somewhat similar in the whole suspending belief aspect of it all and equally good).
