I would like for you to share some of your favorite novels. What makes these books so special for you?

Natasha (ahsatan82) Very hard to narrow it down to the top 3 but I will try!

(1) The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah
- This was my first taste of urban lit, read it right after high school/early college years and remember not being able to put it down. I think I read it in 2-3 days. Since there have been quite a few years that have passed since then I would need to revisit the book to refresh my memory.

(2) And on the Eighth Day She Rested by J.D. Mason
- J.D. Mason is one of my favorite authors and this was the first book I read by her and I loved the story of empowerment and strength that the main character gained and overcame her abusive situation. It definitely drew me in.

(3) 32 Candles by Ernessa T. Carter
- Loved, loved, loved this book! Like a modern day, african american, ugly duckling turned swan story with a play on the movie 16 candles. I didn't want to put this book down either. I'm hoping the author comes out with more books.

I'm sure I'll think of others that top my list but these are definitely in the top... 20 ;-) lol!
