Would you want a 4th book?

Kelsey I would love to read about the first Hunger Games and how everything got started in the first place, or Haymitch or Finnick's point of view. Mockingjay definitely wasn't my favorite out of the three, but anything taking place after it doesn't appeal to me.

I agree the third book failed horribly, what a shame."

it wasn't fail!! you can't always expect a perfect predictable ending(katniss marry gale/peeta,lives in capitol with her family, become rich, and more). mockingjay is sadd but just accept the fact,it was amazing

Agreed"

agreed!

i definitely DO NOT want a fourth book continuing the same story. as much as it pains me to say so, katniss and peeta's story is done. anything more would just be silly. it ended well and it should be left that way. i would be ok with a prequel though. thats the only way i'll accept a fourth book. i like your ideas of haymitch's games or the first one. i think that would be pretty cool. but yeah... definitely not a fourth installment of katniss

george ☽ No, I think the series is done. I would read it, but in my opinion, it's unnecessary. I would, however, love The Hunger Games (book one) from Peeta's perspective.

message 56: by Alya (new) - rated it 5 stars

Alya Nope, it ended as it should have.
But I would like to read about how Panem and the Hunger Games were founded. I think that would be a very interesting idea :P

message 57: by Bai (new) - rated it 5 stars

Bai Nope! Dragging out the story further will just ruin it.

Ciara No, I think that, when you have a good trilogy, there's no need to add on. Sometimes, it's best to leave well enough alone. I think it would ruin the series if another book was added on. What would it be about? The epilogue already confirmed what happens, so, in one sense, another book would be very predictable.

But, maybe if the book featured Katniss, Peeta and their kids, it could work. It would be interesting to see what Suzanne could come up with. :)

message 59: by Amy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amy You know what, I don't want anymore. I love the trilogy and it will always be on my bookshelf. What I loved about this series is that when they say "America and the world failed and fell" and stuff like that in the book, I look around at our societies and wonder if this could be what leads to Panem; war, hunger and constant conflict. I don't want a book telling me how it happened cause then it would take away the questions that Suzanne Collins gave me.

thats actually a really cool way of looking at it.

I totally AGREE!

I want the 3rd book re-written.

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

adding a fourth book to the trilogy would ruin the story. look at the uglies trilogy, the fourth book wasnt as good. the story is over, thats my opinion

Colby No.

Samah NO absolutely not! The third book sucked! I only liked the Hunger Games. Kind of liked Catching Fire, not really. And hated Mockingjay. The epilogue was terrible.

Dannielle I got NO sense of Closure, and it's been eating me up ever since I finished the book. So YES, Collins needs to write another book. It doesnt need to be as plot heavy, but instead split into various sections:

1st Section: Haymitch's life afterwards (20 years)
His point of view

2nd: Peeta & Katniss's life, both POV's (20 years) But THIS time, I want much more information. The epilogue tanked

3rd: Gale. (20 years) his POV. My heart broke when Katniss disconnected from him, & I was left in the dark to basically imagine how his characters life would be. Not fun.

4th: Annie. Finnick's Death was so tragic, so I would love to see how she would have got along. (20 years) her POV.

Basically I HATE having to guess about characters. The unknown is terrible, and that's what I HATED about Mockingjay. Characters dont live outside their books, even if my imagination is powerful, I'll never be able to know for a fact how their live's really turned out. (specifically Gale)

Daniel The third was soooo slow.Maybe a small one and staright to action.

Phyllis Yes it would be nice to have a fourth book that has Katniss returning to her strong confident character in "The Hunger Games". I really think a new series could develop with the struggle of people wanting to return to the days before the rebellion. Kind of like today's political arena.

Black Queen Because the whole series is freakin awesome...I miss reading katniss and peeta adventure..It's driven me crazy.

Sue Ann Lim A 4th book about Finnick's Hunger Games or maybe from Peeta & Katniss's childrens's POV?

Terry I think I would be compelled to read it, if a fourth was to be written. But maybe not following Katniss but moving on to Gale who was still fighting the war effort and follow the changes of after Coin and Snow

message 72: by [deleted user] (new)

how about a book about the history of panem?

Christina O. I've learned that sometimes it's best to leave a story where it's meant to end, leave while it's still good. I think the idea of short stories like Dee suggested is an interesting idea. I'd love to see other characters perspectives and other stories in the HG world, but a full book? No.

message 74: by Emma (new) - rated it 4 stars

Emma Mecham I think it would be cool if there was a book about Peeta's perspective or Haymitch's. I think also if there was a book about what happened to the kids.

Amanda (Gale's Chosen One) Potter Yes, i'd love a 4th book.
Only if it was completely devoted to Gale though. It would be his story.
I want, well need to know what happened with him. I also want to know if he and Katniss even spoke again or encountered each other.

Or a book on Haymitch's time in The Hunger Games.

Erin Ashley No way. Suzanne Collins finished this series in 3 books so effectively that if she were to write a 4th it would taint the story. And by the way, what was so wrong about Mockingjay? I thought it was quite possibly the strongest book in many ways. Suzanne Collins killing off our favourite characters meant that she knew how to pluck our heart strings and you have to admit, it kept you reading.

Acacia Green No, not a fourth book. There isn't enough of a story to go for a fourth book.

I don't think Katniss would ever snap out of her confusion. Plus it's not really confusion she's suffering from, it's trauma.

Everything left her so traumatised that she just wants to live out her life the only way that made her happy, hunting in the woods.

message 78: by [deleted user] (new)

not exactly, I love the book the way it is and thats what made it epic in the first place.. But I am looking forward for another book( a different book) by Suzanne Collins. :D

message 79: by Anna (new) - rated it 5 stars

Anna No i think that it was wrapped up pretty well

Eleanor Katherine Will wrote: "heck no the third book simply sucked the 2nd book buitl me up for a grandfanle and poof it ende with some of what i exspected and something i never thought would happen like why the heck did prim h..."

No way. Nu-uh. I definitely disagree with you. This book isn't about happy endings, it's about human suffering and what people do for those they love. It's about the misfortune that comes some people's way and I think that all of the books were excellent, I have nothing to say against them. Would I want another book? I honestly don't know. I definitely felt like I didn't want the series to end, but in my opinion that just shows a really great book (or books) have been written!

Chris ↛ I would love to read about Peeta's POV in the 74th annual Hunger Games!!! Or Finnick's view would be nice! =3

Tjala NO BECAUSE THERED BE NOTHING TO WRITE ABOUT!

Laura I think this series, at least, is better left alone...but I think it would be interesting to see maybe the FIRST Hunger Games...but I don't really know if that is such a great idea in itself. I think Suzanne Collins should come up with an equally amazing idea and play it from there...
I would also really hate another books by someone's perspective that was in the HUNGER GAMES....not Haymitch, or Peeta, or Finnick. I know what happens...I don't want to read the same thing, just in someone else's words.

Tjala i agree!

Monica I hope not the third book, in my opinion, (dont want to offend anyone who loved the book) was awful and some stories just need to end. But like others i could read a prequel

Sarah She should make a prequel about the original rebellion!

Jessica I really want to see what happens to Panem, and to Gale, also Katniss and her kids

message 88: by Mads (new) - rated it 4 stars

Mads I don't know...I think a novella would be cool set into the view of one of the other main characters, like maybe Cinna or Haymitch or Gale or even Peeta, but I'm not sure. I wasn't too pleased with how she ended the series, but oh well.

Turtles All the Way Down I don't think Katniss' story has anywhere left to go. We've reached the conclusion, she has kids lives her life fairly normally from then on. It's not like she ever wanted adventure in the first place. She wanted to live peacefully. Now that she has that, I don't see her doing anything to endanger it.

However, I would like to read about the first war that lead to Panem's creation, or the first rebellion and Hunger Games. It would be interesting to see what drove district 13 to rebel, and how the people reacted to the first Hunger Games.

I would also be interested in reading some short stories about the various districts during the second rebellion. I would like to know more about how the citizens of the Capitol reacted during the rebellion and the taking of the city, or what happened during the eighth district's rebellion. I think it would do a lot to flesh out the world of Panem.

Melody I would be amazing if she wrote another few books but from past tributes views. From each Hunger Games. I would love to hear one from the 25th Hunger Games (where the districts had to vote for their tributes). Can you imagine the betrayal felt by the tributes?

Cat Monica wrote: "Does anybody want there to be a forth book in The Hunger Games, or do you think the trilogy is finished? What would you want it to be about if you did want another one?"

I WANT ONE ABOUT PRIMROSE RUE MELLARK AND JONATHON GALE MELLARK (Their kids)

Katherine Yes! But maybe with different characters...?

Ingrid Hardy S.L. wrote: "Nope, this story is done! IMHO"

Agree... :-)

Jennifer Dupriest Yeah I think she should write another book.

Kathleen Maryam wrote: "i wouldnt mind a book that was set in the past- maybe from Haymitch's point of view... but otherwise i'm content with the first 3 books"

I totally agree with this!

Richie! Maybe a Book about The Capitol's Hunger Games, that would be cool, like a sequel series

Eleanor Katherine Richie! wrote: "Maybe a Book about The Capitol's Hunger Games, that would be cool, like a sequel series"

That would be cool, yeah :) x

Heather she writes so sophomoricly I don't think she could really pull off writing from an adult POV and I'm think it would just end up being more of the same if she wrote from Haymitch's POV. If (and that's a big IF as I think she should quit while she's ahead, and far ahead at that) IF she were to write more about this world it might be cool to go back before the games were ever initiated, to the war that started the ball rolling, and end with the announcement of the first hunger games...

Turtles All the Way Down Andromeda Nicole wrote: "Monica wrote: "Does anybody want there to be a forth book in The Hunger Games, or do you think the trilogy is finished? What would you want it to be about if you did want another one?"

I WANT ..."

Why would she name one of her children after Gale? That's very rude of her to do that to Peeta. I wouldn't want my husband to name my child after one of his almost lovers. I think she would name her child after her father before she would name him after Gale.

Love Music 4ever Mrs.Effie Fuentes Yes I wish she would make a 4th book cried so hard at the end because I knew it was the last book loved the books but it would be hard to do a 4th book because everything was settled and the epilogue left me thinking that she will not write another book for the series.
