Monica Stoddard Does anybody want there to be a forth book in The Hunger Games, or do you think the trilogy is finished? What would you want it to be about if you did want another one?

S.L. Wallace Nope, this story is done! IMHO

lorin ✨ Haymitch's view of his Hunger Games. My Lord, I would devour that book!

message 4: by Amy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amy Maybe a book set way in the past - the first Hunger Games maybe.

message 5: by Sam (new) - rated it 2 stars

Sam NO WAY. not if collins is going to write like she did in mockingjay. the first two rocked... the third failed.

Nya Tomlinson-Horan-Malik-Payne-Styles i liked all the books in the series equally. i would want more explanation on life before the hunger games started, like the dark days. also, haymitch's quarter quell. in addition, i would want to know more about katniss and peeta's life, and gale's.

message 7: by Jim (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jim Some prequels might be okay as Nya suggests. Given the epilogue at the end of Mockingjay, it suggests there isn't much of particular interest that takes place over the next 20 years (at least for Katniss and Peeta).

I wouldn't especially care for another view of the same hunger games from a different perspective

message 8: by Dee (new) - rated it 3 stars

Dee I don't know about a full 4th book, maybe an anthology of short stories - Haymich's, Finnicks etc

message 9: by Ann (new) - rated it 2 stars

Ann Gimpel I don't think so. Not after the travesty of the third book. Collins' well seems to be tapped out in this particular world and with these characters.

Beth ~Mrs.SheldonCooper~ I would love a fourth book, but I think the third book had too much of something that couldn't really be worth making a new book.

Monica Stoddard Beth wrote: "I would love a fourth book, but I think the third book had too much of something that couldn't really be worth making a new book."

Yeah , I agree with that.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

I would like to have a fourth book, but I would also like the whole series redone into Peeta's view... But I doubt that Suzanne Collins would want to do that...

Samantha Yes - Hunger Games from Peeta's perspective!! What was he thinking the whole time??? I think that would be a great 4th book .. or whole other Trilogy :)

message 14: by Markelle (new)

Markelle Grabo I think the series ended realistically. There's no need to push it. But a prequel could be interesting. I would read it.

message 15: by Amy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amy If another book was to be written then it should be a prequel. Katniss and Peeta's story ended perfectly at the end of Mockingjay and I am content with it. But a prequel on Haymitch or the Dark Days would be a pleasant addition to the series. But I don't want them doing anything just for the sake of doing something in order to make money.

I don't know if I can take another Hunger Games book! Too much saddness! ;{

Diana ❀ ☺ I would definately want a 4th book!!!

Roman If Collins ever writes a fourth book i think it should be about one of the Capital children who go through the Hunger games the Victors were planing to make in Mockingjay. I would absolutely love to read that. Or even the adventures of Finnick before he died.

Jenny Cobb S.L. wrote: "Nope, this story is done! IMHO"

Totally agree with that.

Laurie Johnson I agree with S.L. and Jenny (AKA Rose). I think she did a great job with this series and I feel complete.

Amelia I think a 4th book from Katniss's kids perspective would be good, otherwise, I loved the series.

David A fourth book set in the same dystopia, different characters and different timeline perhaps, but, I think we know enough about most of the cast featured in The current Trilogy to be content with their stories.

Perhaps it would be interesting for a story to be told for Finnick? But I'd personally prefer a prequel, set during the previous rebellion which started the Hunger Games.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

I would not like a fourth book, I would like a spin off series for Peeta and Katniss's kids! So exciting.

Vassi Yeah, Mockingjay was not as good as the previous ones, and if another book would be like it- no , thank you!
But I would like a dozen short stories- all type- before, during, after current trilogy, from different POVs- Finnick and Haymich and even Mags for the past, Peeta during particular moments of the 74th and 75th games, Gale, Prim- for current trilogy, and for the future- well, from Capitol kids maybe...very short stories like small glimpses in their minds- that would be really cool

Christina Love Vassi's idea.

I would like some more explanation about some stuff to clear it up, particularly with Maysilee and Madge's mother and Katniss' mother. But you know, I think in the end, it didn't need to be happy, it needed to be real, and Suzanne Collins did a good job with that.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

All great stories have to end at some point. I agree that maybe she could do a book from another character's P.O.V in the past set in the past (separate from the trilogy).

Courtney I'd want a fourth book if it was about how they came to live life like they do now. What happened to make North America into districts? Where did everyone else go. They talk about a time before districts vaguely in school I think.

Will The 1rst heck noto a fourth installment of The Hunger Games the third book simply sucked the 2nd book built me up for a grandfanale and poof it ended with some of what i exspected and something i never thought would happen like why the heck did prim have to die and katness dont get me started on her"I dont know where i am" "peta" this book showed her as a week demseil in distress destroyed everything that the first two books built her as. but if they were to make another hunger games tell haymitches or the fishermen guys hunger games but i woundnt buy it $22 wasted on this book!

Mattias No. The story is done. The epilogue adds closure, and I'm not sure how a sequel (or prequel) could possibly improve anything.

message 33: by yael (new) - rated it 4 stars

yael i would want a fourth book but the story is done. Katniss has kids and like Mattias said, the epilogue adds closure. It wouldn't be the same with different characters. Plus, they took down the Capitol so there's no more Hunger Games.

message 34: by Nicole (last edited Feb 18, 2012 10:44AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nicole Definitely! I would have loved a 4th book that would have showed us how Katniss and Peeta's children ended up, and what happened to Gale. Also it would be cool if the 13th district cleaned itself up and what happened to the Capital.
It would be fine if another book didn't come out. I feel complete. I understand what happened and I don't need any more. But I admit that I would read the 4th book if it ever came out.
The 4th book wouldn't even have to be a book. It could be a few little clips of what happened to all the other characters. Especially Annie. Or maybe a look into the past.

message 35: by Yazi (new) - rated it 5 stars

Yazi Maybe haymitch's quarter quell hunger games, otherwise there's really nothing more to write.

message 36: by Lucy (new) - rated it 4 stars

Lucy i think it would be cool to have a book that shows what happens in district 12 from when katniss leaves maybe from gales point of view

message 37: by Leah (new) - rated it 5 stars

Leah I don't think that Ms. Collins should write a fourth book. All of the ideas are good ones, but it would probably just sort of ruin the trilogy.

Leonora Marie I would love to read more about these characters, but the third book really wrapped the series up. Writing more about what happens in the future would ruin that beautiful ending. :)
I agree that it should be about something in the past, or perhaps Finnick and Annie's love story? But seeing as Panem lasted as long as it did, no other rebellions really made an impact. I think that the most important thing is not to ruin the series by milking it for more than it's worth!

message 39: by Blake (new) - rated it 1 star

Blake There would be one huge positive to a fourth book. At least with a fourth installment we'd know going into it that there was absolutely no possible way for it to be worse than Mockingjay. It could be 400 pages of Katniss' diary entries on what she fixes for dinner every night, and it would still be a literary tour de force when stacked up next to Mockingjay.

message 40: by Olivia (new) - added it

Olivia There has to be a fourth book! I haven't finished the third book but I know there are kids. It would be cool from the kids point of view. Go PEETA!

Stephanie Not if it had anything to do with Katniss and Peeta. I would want a book either set, like some have said, for the first Hunger Games or maybe even late after Katniss and Peeta have gone. Something new, not something made from pieces of the old.

Vassi What about 75 years after the 75th Hunger games...story of Katniss, named after her infamous grandmother, who wears her Mockingjay pin in memory of her grandma and faces the new cruelties in Panem...which are who knows what...could be anything, of course, if there are no hunger games..oh, and i know- she falls in love with the grandson of Gale ;) And this time both team Gale and team Peeta live happily ever after
Just how cool is that!

message 43: by Amna (new) - rated it 2 stars

Amna Sam wrote: "NO WAY. not if collins is going to write like she did in mockingjay. the first two rocked... the third failed."

I agree the third book failed horribly, what a shame.

message 44: by Will (new) - rated it 4 stars

Will The 1rst the trilogy was ruined by the third book maybe a fourth book could set things write it could star out as katniss snapping out of her confusion and actually going through with the games change some of the events that tanspired like prims death and peetas tranformation. i agree with my earlier post and sam

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

YES but no one will die and suffering,it just a happy story about katniss, peeta and their kids!

Christina I would like prequels... Like Haymitch's or how it all started in the beginning, or Kat's mom, or Cinna... Telling other previous games while weaving in their lives.

Question for everyone - why was the third novel so much of a let down to you? I was neutral... But I wanted her with Gale so that was. Let down. I would have liked a fourth book if she was with Gale

Payton Yes I wouldove another book. Yes maybe a long one with life before and after the persons hunger games. Finnick Johanna haymitch. These books are well up there with Harry potter, lord of the rings and for you crazy weird people twilight and another book would sell tremendously. Meaning that I would by a million copies!

message 48: by Ben (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ben Maryam wrote: "i wouldnt mind a book that was set in the past- maybe from Haymitch's point of view... but otherwise i'm content with the first 3 books"

Same here, that would be great! I would love to get into Haymitch's mind.

message 49: by Ben (new) - rated it 5 stars

Agreed

message 50: by Fadi (new) - rated it 4 stars

Fadi Didi Goodness, NO! It feels like this was meant to be one book, but broken into three for profit.
